Better Understanding Trump Voters By Getting into Car Accidents With Them

I’m retired and 70, not much of this will affect me personally, it is the outright ignorance I can not fathom! Democrats and working class did this to ourselves. Hopefully by 2018 enough voters will step up to at least take the senate. Nice conversation today, maybe there is hope!

Ahh, optimism, well I guess that’s better than the opposite way of thinking. I am seeing denial so strong from them, they will not believe even our intelligence briefers. Now a bit of scepticism is OK, but taking the words of a complete novice like trump over the CIA, IS THE EPITOME of ignorance. I have even had replies from retired military calling our guys Liars and defending Russia!! Never have I in 70 years heard that!

A very smart guy commented that without Obama we would not have a Trump. I believe that is true. Somewhere along the line one party in our two party system decided that ‘common courtesy’ was not politically viable. Hence we have what we have today, massive anger at conditions that evolved through the actions of companies being what they are: FOR PROFIT ENTITIES. Representatives of manufacturing companies claim that right now in America there are over 300,000 openings available. BUT, always a but in there somewhere, those jobs require way more education than the old style assembly line work. Training in computers and robotics is mandatory to fill those positions and it seems many underemployed or flat out unemployed will not or can not learn the necessary skills, so anger is the result in many cases. ABLIB is spot on about Trumps promises, those unskilled high paying factory jobs will never return to America.

Some Tough Love for The Democratic Party – Time For a Change

We,progressives, lost by being nice. We, sorry to say overestimated the average guy or gal. Loud consistent noise, talk radio, rants, true or not, but continuous won the day. Honestly it was masterful, fear and division worked. I wonder if Trump is that smart or just lucky and the last 25 years of propaganda and decisive rhetoric blossomed in 2016 !

Everyday the inconsistencies of Trump must be forcefully presented to the working people of America, and that fire in the belly is lacking in Pelosi, sure she understands the process but it will take much more than procedural knowledge, maybe she could be the wizard behind the curtain. Just take Trumps attack yesterday on the union at carrier, that attack is directed straight at unions. Loud voices need to point that out to all workers in America daily!! 6 billionaires and 3 or 4 military on one cabinet sure does not indicate ‘workers first’ to me, sorta looks like a central American dictatorship!

As usual, well thought out. My hopes were for Tim Ryan to take over in the house. I liked the fire in his gut. If there has ever been a time for some very active, forceful rhetoric it is NOW. Regular people have been duped by the hyperbolic propaganda of the Republican party into believing only ‘they’ can save their jobs and the future of the country, that message needs to be countered with the utmost energy and the answer in these 70 year old eyes is YOUTH AND FIRE!

About out of things to say since this election flipped the world into the Twilight Zone. We have seen one side that spent the last 70 years demanding the purge of any person or group that expounded principles of group help, i.e., socialism (communism) but today that side excepts the fact of Trumps seemingly ‘love’ of a former leader of the KGB. We next see the ‘Evangelical, Born Again’ masses not only accept but applaud a man who ADMITS ON TAPE to assaulting women and having multiple affairs plus 2 divorces and 3 marriages, 5 children by those 3 wives !! Being old in this case may be beneficial to my health, maybe!!

Have we accomplished what the radical Muslim’s wanted? Seems so. Across Europe and now here in America fear and nationalism seem to be in control at the moment. Where will these people lead us? will it be ‘us vs them’ as both extremes want? Or will this phobia pass and cooler heads prevail? Trump is the epitome of all radical ideas rolled into one person, he seems willing to surround himself with people willing to believe any outlandish conspiracy, and has millions of backers enthralled with his rhetoric. How do so many fall under the spell of a madman? Workers across rural America are convinced jobs will now flock back into their towns and counties, what are these people going to do when nothing appears, will they accept his platitudes and excuses or will finally their eyes open to the flim flam man that he is??

Great stuff, as usual Murph, it is now been a couple days and my thoughts are still numbed, believing that half of the voters wished for and got a sexual predator and a robber baron for the leader of the free world still just stuns me. Those white voters think, well maybe they think, that all their measly little troubles will now just evaporate I guess, THEY WON’T FOLKS. Every time the republicans have gained control we the citizens have paid dearly for it. We, the country, are still, after nearly 15 yrs digging our way out of the hole from Bush 2, now we can expect even more disastrous results, enormous tax cuts, pollution of water and air, defunding PP, reversing Roe, and guess what Trump voters?? Being 70 and growing up in pleasanter times, when even politicians used some decorum in their talk of the opposition, when even the most bitterest of enemies in the political arena were ladies and gentlemen, what truly dismays me is the reality that many, many American voters actually seem determined to elect a school yard bully to the White House. When nearly every remark about the other side starts will name calling just what level of intelligence does that show for the candidate and the voters willing to vote for him?? Especially working class whitemen! Do they not realize this 1%er really has no use for any of them outside this election cycle !!

while I found it impossible to listen to this fool for more than a minute or two at a time, the short time I did listen all I heard was NOTHING. No policy, no reasonable attempts to help America, just rants about himself and how he will accomplish all in the first 100 hours or so. This man has no idea how our government works, he supposes he will magically appear and all manner of ills will just vanish in fear before his grandiose mutterings. There is a world of difference between voting for something you believe in and voting for something you are frightened of. The end results can be disastrous. The English are learning that lesson the hard way. What is amazing though is reading posts by Trump clones applauding the disaster. Do they know it is their 401’s that are losing value, sure isn’t Trump. The average citizen in the UK have lost about 20% of their buying power in less than a week, the rich could care less, if you have a million or so it hurts on paper, if you have a hundred it hurts a whole bunch. Sometimes that old expression; ‘cutting your nose off to spite your face’ is true and this is one of those times. Vote Trump and lose, even the republican controlled Chamber of Commerce agrees.

In 1932 Hitler had about the same number of followers, 25% to 30% and look at the result. Blind followers are dangerous. Many reply that some of us are blind to Hillary’s faults, WRONG, we see them and still realize she is qualified for the job, not one who has run this time has been even close to her level of knowledge about our government or of the world and it’s leaders. If one had run who was more ‘ready’ believe me that person would have been examined very closely. Trump in my opinion is not even qualified to run for dog catcher.
