Unfortunately, since religion is such a minefield for politicians, Americans have become accustomed to disassociating religious extremists from their religion so as not to offend mainstream religious voters.
The gearing up for world war and the destruction of Islam served two purposes; of course it was a distraction, but it was a big step towards war. "Start here," means that Trump & Co are building a case for war with his base.
What if ISIS was invading Jordan or Israel or even somewhere in Europe and on a genocidal march through the country, would President Obama be just as much of a hypocrite if he acted against them then? Are hypocrisy and conscience conditional based on what the latitude and longitude is of a terrorist-driven slaughter?

With such an unpopular and xenophobic agenda so desperately desired, might not Trump and Bannon see it to their advantage if a terrorist attack did take place and a frightened public fell in line behind whatever they wanted to do?
Throughout American history, Republicans have always stood for supporting the goals they speak up for...then attacking any Democrats who accomplish them!
