Displaying 181 To 210 Of 293 Comments LMAO! Author, Author!! » Posted By VegasBabe On June 17, 2010 @ 7:37 am Free Speech! Supplies Are Limited! Couple of thoughts. I don’t believe Helen is and ever was anti-semitic by any stretch of the imagination. I find it sad that folks would bring up her own ethnicity and decide where she’s coming from. That’s exactly how many black folks lose validity when they claim racism, “OH OFCOURSE THEY WOULD SAY THAT, THEIR BLACK”, when in fact, that is exactly what their dealing with. And a couple of more thoughts. She suggested that these folks go home. I feel her. They’ve not only established statehood in land assigned, but taken MUCH more. When does it stop? If your not satisfied with what you’ve been allocated, THEN GO HOME. We tell no less to our children, or at least that’s how I grew up. This is what’s for dinner, If you don’t want it, don’t eat. Additionally, maybe Helen is feeling what a GREAT MANY other Americans are feeling, including me. ENOUGH ALREADY! I don’t want to hear about the holocaust, I got my own to consider thank you very much and ya don’t hear me whining 24/7 about slavery, 400 years of it no less and the millions upon millions of my ancestors who were SLAUGHTERED. I don’t want another nickel of my taxes going to Israel. Maybe Helen sees what I see, that the oppressed have now become the oppressors! Just maybe she’s as sick of it as the rest of us. » Posted By VegasBabe On June 7, 2010 @ 2:44 pm Help me out here. It seems to me that the US has been Israel’s benefactor for far to long, even to the peril of our own..I can’t even imagine how those yearly billions (over how many years now, at least a decade, or two) could have helped Americans. But though no one has said it, it would certainly seem like the gravy train is over, finally. We’ll see. Meanwhile, they already had health care for every countryman while we’ve had Americans perish because they were without. Why do we need them again as allies? Seems to me, if your playing fair with everyone, where’s the necessity for an “ally”? Well, Israel continues to alienate all who surround her. I don’t know how that’s working out for them, never been to Israel, but if any of these surrounding countries finally calls “foul” and declares war, this is one American citizen who wants no part of any further support to Israel. And no child of mine will perish fighting a war protecting those who were once oppressed, a very very very long time ago but who now are the oppressors. Fuggedaboutit! » Posted By VegasBabe On June 3, 2010 @ 7:48 pm This is extraordinarily sad news indeed. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. Does anyone remember his radio program? I can recall calling in as did many others including Mogamboguru, all the way from Germany. GrouchoMarxist was on every week as a guest host and there were a few episodes that were pretty hysterical. CW voted for GWB not once, but twice as I learned on his show and was enormously regretful about putting so much faith in an inept president. At FRT, he could be funny as hell sometimes. I liked him. I wish I’d known that he was ill. Godspeed CW! » Posted By VegasBabe On May 27, 2010 @ 6:34 am Masters of Illusion and Intolerance How true how true. The Amish are perfect examples. They bother no one. I have lost significant respect for this group, but to this day, they bother no one. And have even aided a cause or two quietly and privately. » Posted By VegasBabe On May 18, 2010 @ 4:58 am Planet Music Night: Summertime (well close enough) absolutely hysterical » Posted By VegasBabe On May 14, 2010 @ 7:17 pm I am in awe of such talent. » Posted By VegasBabe On May 4, 2010 @ 6:57 pm Wow! » Posted By VegasBabe On May 4, 2010 @ 4:42 pm Agreed. but I don’t get the photo. As for Maher, well, we’re all entitled to our opinions as he is his. Like McCain is a disappointment for some rethugs, Maher has long since been a disappointment to me. As strictly a comedian, he can still be funnee. As a political satirist, he’s no Jon Stewart. Satirist….did I spell that right? π » Posted By VegasBabe On May 4, 2010 @ 3:27 pm At Huffington Post, Nobody Knows You’re a Dog Couple thoughts. It almost seems a bit cowardice of me NOT to post my real name when blogging, but having heard some of the same horror stories regarding employers reading blogs and posts of employees and then terminating their employment, not to mention the potential stalking aspects of revealing one’s true identity certainly turns me off. I’m no coward, but I’m no idiot either. » Posted By VegasBabe On April 12, 2010 @ 7:36 pm Man of Steele – Episode 23: “Black Kryptonite” LMAO….well done Adlib. Poor dumb bastard, ya kinda feel sorry for someone who has a semblance of intelligence and therefore knows he’s being used as a tool but dang…they didn’t MAKE him take that position. He shoulda seen the handwriting on the wall from the door. » Posted By VegasBabe On April 5, 2010 @ 3:28 pm H A P P Y 4 T H O F J U L Y » Posted By VegasBabe On July 4, 2010 @ 4:45 am no doubt in my mind. » Posted By VegasBabe On June 3, 2010 @ 6:51 am Wednesday wasn’t a great day. I’ll spare you all the details. But at the end of the day, I decided to reward myself with a nice warm Starbucks latte. When I drove up to the window to pay, the gal advised that my bill was one dollar less than it should be, because the customer before him and the customer even before that one all had contributed one dollar to each of their bills. I dare not let it end with me. And as I drove away, I thought, what a sweet thing for someone to have thought of to do, and how fortunate that I was able to participate. Wow. Prior to that incident, depression was attempting to get a nice grip on my shoulders and that experience was actually just enough to tell depression to take a flying leap. Something that simple and innocuous did it. Staying away from the local news channels including my personal favorite, CNN, helps too. » Posted By VegasBabe On March 5, 2010 @ 8:34 am Help Us Reach Our Fundraising Goal Or Mr. FluffyWuvers Gets It ROFLMAO…talk about ingenuity. Is this to be an effort for cities across the nation? » Posted By VegasBabe On January 21, 2010 @ 9:15 pm Fundraising and Membership Drive – Winter 2010 Ok Adlib, I made the facebook connection AND I made my donation and was only to glad to do it. This place we got going here is absolutely fantastic. You and Kquark, and K7 and Nell et.al., are to be applauded. Hope I am always welcome at the Planet and looking forward to one day writing my own article for submission (just don’t laugh when I do and SOMEBODY hold Kevin back from CORRECTING my engerlish pleeese) π » Posted By VegasBabe On January 21, 2010 @ 7:56 pm “Codes of conduct” are put in place in practically every work environment and they are routinely broken but those in power who should know better. The oath one takes as a physician is an excellent example however the disparities in treatment amongst whites and blacks are well documented. » Posted By VegasBabe On January 21, 2010 @ 7:31 pm I think my immediate concern is that your not aware of how many others share her sentiments at work, including HER superiors. You might be looked upon as a troublemaker, a rabblerouser for reporting this incident. This didn’t occur at a church social or weekly women’s group over a game of bridge. This is WORK. The work place policies were put in place for a reason, to discourage this sort of thing. And yet….it happens every single day, right under our noses and heretofore, many admittedly just ignored it. Clearly, I don’t think she would have the balls to make such a remark to a black staff person. But the real question is how many does she supervise? If there are minorities under her supervision and IMO, she is clearly racist, then I would have no recourse but to report it. But if not, I’m not so sure I would create potential hostilities for myself. You know, in my hood, they still occasionally say, “self preservation is the first law of nature”. Now, I don’t know what your circumstances are, but are you in a position where the loss of this job would not be disastrous for yourself and your family? Now that you have no doubt who she really is, one can always distance oneself from folks we find repulsive. We don’t have to request and/or accept rides, eat lunch or sit next to them at the conference table and still be professional and courteous. I don’t know….you seem to know what you “should” do, so go with your gut. Good luck with this and do let us know in a month or two how it turned out should you decide to report these comments. Here’s hoping the atmosphere at work doesnt deteriorate for you should you choose to “do the right thang”. » Posted By VegasBabe On January 21, 2010 @ 7:25 pm The 7.0 Earthquake in Haiti will be absolutely devastating to the people of this country. That one was missing from your list. » Posted By VegasBabe On January 11, 2010 @ 8:26 am Steele is a pathetic tool, an uncle tom if I’ve ever known one, a man for all intents and purposes, without gonads. He is hopeless. » Posted By VegasBabe On January 11, 2010 @ 8:20 am Respectfully, start here » Posted By VegasBabe On January 11, 2010 @ 8:11 am Oh I don’t mind toning it down a little and if me criticizing Mormons offends your sensibilities, I am certain you have never been and will never be one of the MANY who have participated in knocking catholics, right? » Posted By VegasBabe On January 11, 2010 @ 8:03 am Part of what it’s NOT is letting Reid “slide” because he’s….OLD? He’s also from a group of white people who have very strong negative feelings about blacks, that being MORMONS. Voting him out in my mind’s eye is not punishment, but appreciating that we can DO BETTER. What? He’s it? That’s all there is? I don’t think so. If this country is going to truly progress, these old white men who have run things for as long as they have and accomplished nearly nothing in the arena of race relations and do more harm than good for that matter with dialogue obviously from the ….50’s???? I say GET’em OUT of there and the sooner the better. » Posted By VegasBabe On January 10, 2010 @ 7:30 pm Really? What part of the friggin USA does one live where they DON’T know that the term Negro is considered insulting to blacks? And shouldn’t a friggin U S Senator KNOW that? Or is he only representing CERTAIN constituents and not all? This is what I think. MORMONS ARE RACIST. I’ve run across hundreds in Vegas and yep, they be racist! Reid a mormon? Yes he be! Democrats better get busy and find a replacement for this neanderthal because come re-election, he’s gonna be in reaaaalll trouble. Ask ANY black resident of Vegas and you’ll hear the same ESPECIALLY amongst the young and progressive “negros”. The lack of our vote may not keep him out of office, but it will certainly send a very real message. I don’t understand why more aren’t disgusted with this verbiage from a US Senator. Maybe when he let’s slip “wetbacks”, it’ll get more attention. Meanwhile, Obama would do well to start searching for a more “in tuned” democrat while the gettin’ is good. » Posted By VegasBabe On January 10, 2010 @ 6:24 pm Wow. If that were for purchase, I’d buy it in a heartbeat. The colors are breathtaking and this is indeed the kinda art I like. It’s beautfiul dude. oh wait, maybe your a girl. Whatever, I like it. And congratulations on your seven years of sobriety. I think that challenge is a one day at a time kinda deal, yes? Adlib, you sure you don’t work for them Hollywood folks? You could make a killin’! π
There WAS a time I held great esteem for HS but there were a few posters he has since attacked, including me for NOT supporting amnesty, that has turned me waaaaaaaay off. I didn’t get attacking lornejl and/or sassysafrine. I’m just waiting for him to assault ThunderClapNewman and then I think folks might wake up a bit. HS’s posts have lost their luster for me and I remain disheartened about that. My point and my belief has always been and shall always remain that we MUST agree to disagree amiably on certain subjects, and leave it at that. HS accused me of having “deep seeded prejudices” because I don’t support amnesty. I’d say that was going a bit to far and several others agreed. Lornejl continues to keep me in stitches and I believe HS had some involvement in getting him banned. He’s back now, thank goodness. Perhaps it’s something to do with getting to big for one’s britches….I don’t know. I generally attempt to submit posts with a tad of humility, appreciating always that though I may not be the brightest bulb on the tree, my opinion nonetheless, is valid. I don’t spend as much time at Huffie as I once did. My time in fact has become so taxed with obligations, I haven’t the energy. But I am glad for PlanetPOV and I trust that I may continue to post here whenever time and energy permit, and though we may NOT always agree, I can do so without the threat of assault. Adlib has all but assured that infact. Jeepers, guess that means it’s time for another donation!! π
