Impeachment

Under enormous pressure from competing interests over the impeachment trial, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell finds himself between the proverbial rock and the hard place.

When we set up shop on the rocky, thunderous eastern shore of an unknown continent, we started with almost nothing. But we had used the dreary days of the passage to begin our Constitution. Little did we know, it was our most valuable possession.

If Trump's Base was to unite with us to throw this idiot tyrant out of our lives, then we would owe them a tremendous debt of gratitude. We need them. It could be a natural thing, like the body's healing processes. Think of the sense of shared beginning. The peace.

For a Senator to defy the Constitution, and stand in open defiance of it because he worships a freakish would-be dictator, is beyond outrage, and cannot be tolerated.

The most serious abuses of power that the "Founders and Framers" could imagine were to receive a title (which always had a monetary and political value), or for there to be even a hint that money was exchanged for influence.

"It's not like people think," the boxer knows, "it ain't about knocking guys through the ropes, or fighting dirty. It's about getting hit; taking a hard hit that jars your senses a little, and standing back up again. It's about throwing a punch he'd never expect when you don't have the strength to raise your arm. It's about you maybe getting hit three times for every one that you land, but making him pay."

To the tune of The Christmas Song, "Trump's nuts roasting while old Lindsey cries. Rand Paul curling 'round his toes. Tyrant Donald being hung by his lies, While Trump's mob falls like dominoes."

If the Justice Department and the F.B.I. escape their duty and allow the President to exist completely above the law, and with unlimited power, then they are no longer law enforcers; and since they act directly on the President's authority, they are reduced to a criminal syndicate.

Republicans will be able to block, individually, any new witnesses. They will do this with every important witness. That's a rigged trial.

It seems that if the criminals in the Republican Criminal Syndicate don't like a law, they just break it. And dare anyone to do anything about it. They know that the liar and oathbreaker William Barr will neglect to turn his Imperial Gaze their way.
