Apparently, local media are now noticing what we have been talking about here for some time. For all the talk about President Obama facing "DOOM!!!", he looks to be the only candidate with a real grassroots base and campaign...

The vast majority of politicians run in whatever direction will get them the most votes. Liberals will pretend to be conservatives on pivotal issues (knowing that their base will still vote for them) to pick up some conservative votes. Conservatives will pretend to be liberals on pivotal issues (knowing that their base will still vote for them) to pick up some liberals votes.

If 2016 was personified as a human being, it would be more often referred to as an unbelievable asshole who would not be welcome back even if it came to our door with a giant box of chocolates in one hand and an eternal youth potion in the other.

"Slower than a short bus with flat tires! More dishonest than petroleum and natural gas PR commercials! Able to trip over low thresholds of morality in a single step! Look, up in the polls, it's absurd , it's a' lame, it's SupeHerman!"

An attempted crime is still an effort to commit a crime...which is a crime. If bank robbers failed in a heist, if terrorists failed in an attack, if a rapist failed in a rape attempt...are they all innocent because they didn't succeed at the intended crime?

They literally wrap themselves in flags (at least flag pins) but if you were to make a checklist of all of America's founding and ongoing principles, as a democracy and society, you'd find a substantial Republican checklist of things they despise.

The last Democratic debate before the Iowa Caucuses and the New Hampshire primary takes place tonight, Sunday, Martin Luther King holiday weekend at 6:00pm PST...or as Hillary Clinton would call it, "prime time".
