We can’t take them away from people who are law abiding and I don’t want to. But we can make it harder to get the bullets. This could have a great effect on the revenue problem as well. Place a tax on them that makes it very difficult for anyone to buy bullets. We could also tax the bullets that semi automatic guns use even higher.Also track who buys them. The other thing is making gun owners buy liability insurance and register their guns every year. As well as making them take responsibility for the guns used in a crime. I hope he has some cooperation this time from the republicans.
I think back to the republican primary and remember how they self destructed by their need to push each other further to the “right” (in my opinion wrong ).
The idea seems to me to be a win win situation.

Seems to me that guns in the hands of ignorant or disturbed or mentally ill or criminals are the cause of these shootings. I wonder how well background checks work? How many guns are out there? How a crook would get a gun? (stolen probably) So what can we do to eliminate this kind of thing?

I used pot one time in my life and got sick. That said it is less harmful than alcohol or tobacco. We in America cannot prohibit these things. Think how many prisoners are behind bars for possession.
It is foolish and costly. Think of the farmers having a new cash crop that is versatile (hemp) and think about the cartels losing business while America collects taxes and more people have good jobs.
America needs Obama for four more years to complete some of his ideas.
