A Thoughtful Note to Democratic Voters: Calm the Fuck Down

Well put AdLib! I find in these times of outrage fauxrage, I have decided to become the Chad character from SNL: “Ok” said with as much disinterest as possible.

Hope you all are well. I am busy beyond belief. Our little resistance group grew from 5 people in January 2017 to 65 now. We are “a force” for candidates in our district. We had the HIGHEST Dem turnout in our precinct thanks to our peeps in all of our county. Pretty proud of that, but damn it is hard.

Will try to tune in. Keep writing the good stuff, and everyone: CALM THE FUCK DOWN.

Election Day Thread – Super Tuesday Primaries 2016

Nope, AdLib. Beware heavily of Cruz. I’ve been saying all along he WILL BE the “chosen” one. He will take all of Trump’s bigots and xenophobes, all the evangelicals and all the small govt folks from the Libertarians. He makes my skin crawl, and everyone I know here is either terrified of him or ecstatic at his “constitutional adherence”. He IS smart – like a psychopath – and quick on his feet. Put $$ behind him, and beware. He could actually beat Hillary and/or Bernie. Trust me on this. Dominionist policies coming soon.

Texas Has Finally Gone Full Metal Straightjacket

Good one, B’rer AdLib!

GIMME SHELTER………..

Now the Alamo has been taken over by “the gubmint” and will be run like a Disneyland attraction (OK, it was Fess Parker as Davy that started my love affair with the place).

Texas: their voters are lazy and/or crazy. What else can I say?

Am negotiating a life in Canada via Twitter. Had a few invites. Trying to put on a lot more blubber so I’se can stay warm…..

In all truth, MOCK THEM. Actually mocking these guys is the best way to get them to back down. They are stupid, but when everyone laughs and points at your crotch, betcha look down.

So Kes, Ad and other sane Planet Folks: what say we move this operation north and attack from the OTHER America? You know: North America.

I had a feeling that my name would be brought up. Now I have to go help the Feds find their way thru town. Lots of one way streets. Need “boots on the ground”. Good thing I’ve got about 10 pair….

See y’all on Vox, maybe, if I am awake……

And y’all know that Gov. Rolling Disaster (code name for project) must have surely sustained a head injury as well as a spinal one from that falling tree.

Morning Blog — 11-20-2014

Naughty girl! I turn my back on you for a minute, and THIS is what happens? Or are you just pretending you’ve bumped your bum so that you don’t get the spanking you would have coming for trying to do too much????

I can send some MacPuffins love to you, if needed.

Finally back home after a long and tiring trip. No more until April, except one overnight trip not far from here.

More time for PPOV. More time for MB. Hooray!

Let me know if I need to send some of our “Crime scene: Do Not Cross” barrier tape to keep you reminded to not overdo.

Hey PPO – just pulled out my brochures and stuff from that Cowboy Poetry Gathering. Geez – that was in 1990. Where did the time go?

There was Ranald Chandler, and Ted Egan, Nerys Evans, Marion Fitzgerald, Bill Gunn and Bruce Forbes Simpson. All were great; I loved Bruce and Nerys and Bill the best. Lovely folks, and the party went on until 4 or 5AM each night.

Thank you for sharing the videos. I went online and found one for Past Caring and then I made the mistake of finding the written version of “The Pearl of Them All” by Henry Ogilvie, which has me sobbing away even as I type. But it’s a sweet hurt, and surrounded by memories of the days I got to spend with some of the cowboy poets of Australia.

Also loved “The Drovers Boy”, and found this video of Ted doing the same. Audio isn’t great, but still love the poem and the Foster phone.

So thanks, PPO. And I’m sure we will share more in the future. – AB

PPO: Just got back from the east coast (I’m in love with Maryland for now) and can’t wait to read this, but wanted to share with you one of my “Aussie” adventures (hard to have, considering I won’t fly).

Went to the Cowboy Poetry Gathering in Elko, NV decades ago. They featured cowboys from Australia. I was mesmerized! Sir William Gunn (sp) had me crying OUT LOUD when he recited the poem “The Pearl of Them All” (think that was the name) and I became a huge fan of Henry Lawson (“Past Caring”).

One of my most favorite books ever was “In a Sunburned Country”, Bill Bryson’s tome about travels through Australia.

If I ever get over my flying phobia (and I won’t), Australia is truly one of the places I would most love to see.

I come from, left and have returned to, Texas. I am friends with the family from the King Ranch. I love the lifestyle.

Thanks for giving us some global perspective. For years now, all I could focus on was Afghanistan. Nice to turn to the west again. – AB

The Weekend Music Thread-As You Please

Nirek – I am over 60 and VERY proud of it! In fact, as I am just beginning to see my very first few gray hairs, I made the decision to go “au natural”. I have earned every sag, wrinkle and gray that can be found on my person, and I’m damn proud of them. Beauty is found on the inside, not the outside.

Sigh. Wish I were in Northfield, having a cup with you! I fell in love with Aglaia and the Northfield Inn. Wish I was there!!

Frennie!!! You can call me Davy. I will answer to it to this day. One of the highlights of my adult life was spending a day with a woman named Cathy Crockett, a long distant relative of da man hisself. If’n you ever come see me, I will take you to Austin to the Capitol to see the humongous portrait of Davy that hangs in the rotunda. Sigh. Buckskin never went out of style in my mind….

Love and miss you. Send an email with all the latest gossip. I’m blowing and going like crazy – put myself into hyper activity mode because I was so sad my last boy did not make it back. But Christmas was full of little Afghan chirren – 6 of ’em to be exact, all coming to be with me because they did not want me to be sad….Did they want me to be exhausted?????

Take care, dearest Frennie. And beware – I’m tiara hungry…..

» Posted By AlphaBitch On March 17, 2014 @ 3:44 pm

Nirek – do you know that I STILL have my Davy Crockett outfit from this series and the time I was 3-4 years old? Do you know that for a two year span, my family HAD to call me Davy? (My true name was similar) And on the rare occasions that I would allow my mother to wash my beloved fringed outfit, she and my sister (older) would have to chase and corner me in the backyard, strip the clothes off of me (FINALLY) and wrap me in a towel, hand me a feather and tell me to play Indian until they dried???? True story. And even little as I was, I would pull up a bucket and stand on it on tiptoes to feel if’n my Davy wear was dry. I would then screech for momma to come and get them so’s I could dress proper.

AND Fess Parker WAS Davy Crockett in my mind. John Wayne made me puke.

Fond memories, AB

WHHHAAA???? Who’s the other Texas person here???? Nirek, dear VT buddy! I lubs ya mucho. Just busy tidying up down here. Wish I could come up to VT and sit down for that cuppa coffee with you…

BTW: Do you know the name of the Yellow Rose of Texas? And her history? Interesting tale…….likely fiction, but it is Texas and full of great storytellers (Larry McMurtry and others).

I join AdLib, Kalima, Kesmarn, KT, FunkSands and the rest in wishing you a warm welcome. You will love it here. Intelligent discourse, civil disagreements and debates, and tons o’fun.

Ad and Kalima – look at what you guys have wrought! Congrats for building a fun place.

Famous Movie Quotes If Republicans Had Starred in Classic Films

Ooh, ooh! Can I play? I am trying to remember how to bold my film title, so excuse me if I make some mistake and it comes out like “Ted Cruz is a NUT” or something like that:

One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest: Obama as McMurphy: “Which one of you nuts has got any guts?”

EDIT: Don’t remember. Sorry!

Morning Blog

Hello ladies – I saw this on one of my Palestinian links and found it absolutely haunting. It only takes about 4 1/2 minutes to watch, but wow – can you learn a lot!

Love to you both. I have my kids all coming “home” from AFG this week, and my Turkish son and my latest “son” from AFG are moving around as well. Most of my spare time (HA!) is on the phone/computer with them, getting them settled.

Thinking of you both, and wishing you much love.

Kalima – jinx! I was looking at Twitter when it stopped me in my tracks. Someone posted that Rick Perry now had added a new element to the periodic table: felonium. I immediately thought of K Quark, and how he would have already put it in our chart. Sigh. I miss him and Beto lots lots lots. But I am thankful to have you. And I like the new avi. After all, a gal should change her photo every now and then. Is that a new hairstyle???? Very nice!

Been busy with the Pup and his ladies. Check your mail soon and I will send you a photo. They are adorable. Now they are gone and he is sad…….

It takes strength to look at what is done. At least we aren’t paying Assad to do it…

Read your column below re: cheering and then going to confession. I once was faced with a psychopathic husband killing a dear friend. I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that I could/would kill him with no remorse, as he had killed my friend. And I would gladly stand before God, and say “Yes, sir. I did it. Not sorry at all that this bastard is dead. Your welcome. Happy to have helped!”

Fortunately calmer heads prevailed, and after six years he went to prison without parole. But I understand rage. I understand the feeling you can do nothing.

But you can! Talk, talk, talk. Have courage. I had to testify in court against this chicken shit who did not even show up for his own trial. Don’t be afraid or upset at looking at what is happening – face the truth. And give what you can – either money or time – to the causes you believe in. So that when (for believers) you stand before God, you know YOU did all YOU could to help and not hurt. That’s all. – AB

Kalima: I went and donated to JVP. It takes immense courage to stand up and call out Israel’s actions if you are a Jew. Good on them! And the video is wonderful. There is a rally in Austin this Saturday and Blov and I hope to go. For now, no donations to any political causes.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for always making the Planet a place to come and get informed. It is where I turn for reliable information. Your MB rocks!

With children from Syria, Afghanistan, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Sierra Leone, Kuwait, Bosnia, Indonesia and Bangladesh, I am kept busy watching situations develop in LOTS of places. Your MB ensures I have not missed anything.

Hi Ms. K! Thank you for this posting. I just finished maid work here and hope to sit down and read for a while.

Don’t even get in a contest over heat with me right now, Missy! Not only does TX have Teddy Crazypants Cruz, Louie the Gomer Gohmert, Steve Part Stock Himself Stockman, Blake Chris Farley impersonator Farenthold, Rick All Hair No Cerebrum Perry, and a horrid cast of others, we have unbearable heat. Makes me want to move to Canada again. Especially with the US – AND Elizabeth Warren’s – unilateral support of Terrorael – I mean, Israel – I can’t take this anymore. It’s enough to make me puke, or punch someone, or just pack the flip up and move. Too bad Mexico is so messed up – I do love to snorkel.

See you soon, and thank you so much for these. The Blov is very impressed. Finally got him looking…..-AB

FRENNIE! Fellow SMS’er! Gosh, I have missed you. I missed this post of what you are reading as well, but will go get it muy pronto.

Sigh. I hate loving children from conflict areas, but it is what I am called to do, I guess. Cuz love them I do. Not just my Palestinian boy from last year, my girl from Syria, my children from AFG, and also a sweet boy from Sierra Leone, who may now be facing the danger of Ebola. I have cried myself almost dry, and I have prayed without ceasing. Love is all we have.

So good to “see” you! We will talk again soon. Maybe I can vox, and we can harass that FundDoodle if he shows up….

Frennie Forever. Are the tiara wars still on?? Did Ms. K have to cancel due to virtual bloodshed? Sigh. Guess I will go dust off the old one. xoxo AB
