Unfortunately, Republicans often ONLY focus on what's happening at their own breakfast table, and seem to be incapable to concentrate on any kind of injustice, as soon as it's their NEIGHBOR, rather than a family member, who's suffering from it.
"Me know women get less pay for same job but speaking for all women as man, what feel worse to women is everyone knowing it. So me decree, on behalf of women, no one talk about it anymore." Problem solved!
TX State Rep. Dixon explained, "When liberals pass laws to inspect factories to protect people, no one says they're oppressing factories so it's hypocritical of liberals to complain when we have government inspect the lives of women to protect the unborn."
From the party that brought you, "Shutdown at the Oh No Corral" comes a new, charm offensive...though they don't understand the phrase too well ("So we need to be offensive in a charming way?")
With the issues India has with gang rape alone, let alone their overall treatment of their women in general, perhaps the best message one could convey to them is don’t bite the flag that feeds you.
"For years we've courted the public on passing anti-abortion laws and they spurned us. We've grown so frustrated that the way we felt on these issues wasn't being returned, we had to do something about it or we'd burst so we just grabbed the best looking bills we could find and thrust our legislation into them."
The thing is why, as a member nation of the United Nations, would anyone in this country think it ok to withhold certain human rights from certain people? And why would Republicans in Congress hold up re-authorization of a bill for almost two years for the reasons stated above?
Thinking the unthinkable. As horrible as it is to think of this, the wise are doing just that.
The Republicans' simultaneous War On Women and campaigning for their vote is a bit like going on a date, being insulted and demeaned throughout it then being asked, "So, you want to get married?"
