Prejudice and Racism

He is trying to incite a racial war in America (to Putin's absolute delight). Racism worked for him before and Trump's going to dance with the Klansman who brung him.

Instead of our usual Weekend Music Thread, the historic March For Our Lives has taken place today (and is continuing in some places) so in this post we present exclusive video and photos from today's march in Los Angeles.

"We will destroy ISIL and any other organization that tries to harm us. Our success won’t depend on tough talk, or abandoning our values, or giving into fear. That’s what groups like ISIL are hoping for. Instead, we will prevail by being strong and smart, resilient and relentless, and by drawing upon every aspect of American power."

I started this as an exercise on my own to determine exactly what values and beliefs the right have adopted over the past few years that would actually threaten the existence of the true conservative Republican party and perhaps this nation.

On a day when some of these same homophobes who are marching in their "No Gays Need Apply" parades will be dressed in brightly colored clothes, descend on bars in droves getting drunk and hanging all over other men then possibly end up on their knees in a toilet stall, they are hardly in a position to judge others on their behavior as being socially undesirable.

Trump's begrudging statement today about the horrifying events in Charlottesville was delivered stiffly like a disinterested 5th grader reading out loud to his class, with none of the emotion and vehemence of his attacks on the press, Nordstrom and Kathy Griffin.

When people start saying ‘he can’t be racist because he has (your minority of chose goes here) in his cabinet,’ I’m looking for something to Hulk smash. First, it’s one of the most ignorant things one can say, second, it’s insulting to the individual they are using in an attempt to prove Trump is not a racist.

Racism blinds those who practice it. Republicans continue to chase after it with a mindless enthusiasm, not recognizing that it is actually a lemming leading them right off the edge of a political cliff.

While the subject of hate is complex, hate itself can be divided into two general categories: rational and irrational. Unjust acts inspire rational hate....

The real issue here is that when you criticize white people in power for using their power to further oppress black people, you're being racist. After all, aren't you attacking only white people when you do so?
