When it comes to water and toilet paper, the only thing we have to fear is fear itself. Fear is a multiplier, the more it's widely accepted, the more it grows. While there seems to be no connection right now between Coronavirus and running out of Charmin, that connection has been made out of fear and ignorance. And now, the legit fear of not being able to buy the basics because of others' panic-buying, is justified and multiplies all other fears.
I'd really like to start talking about the Middle East again and talking to people that have more than three brain cells, decency and good faith.
When you start listening to Donald Trump’s attacks on his adversaries, perceived or imaginary, through that lens you realize he is ‘projecting’ his own malfeasance and evil intent onto others.
What I see is another division being created in our already-marginalized community.
Trump is a thug and a bully. He insults, mocks, belittles; and now, damns and curses anyone who disagrees with his methods. He reminds you more of a schoolyard bully that loses their nerve if you challenge them.
Donald Trump shows a striking inability to parse information. He can't order and arrange, or prioritize data in a normal way. So, we get pink elephants like airports in the Eighteen Century, refugees from terror and rampant criminality depicted as villains, and raking as a cure-all for the desiccation of North America. The President seems to be getting worse, and we are all in terror of what he may do.
I had a gay cousin who was murdered back in the mid-90’s, I loved my cousin despite his sexual preference. I’ve been asked by some Japanese colleagues my opinions on the gay issues. Here’s my dilemma...am I, anti- gay...
So what if the older gentleman that lives next door is three years younger than I am? It matters not, I am the rock n' roll generation. Rust never sleeps, rock and roll never dies it just gets a little gray.
So...what IS in a name? Our names are probably one of the most fundamental aspects of our identity. We transgender have the opportunity to choose our own names, names that have significance for us...
I will use this space, and my column, to bring light on issues concerning Social Justice where it relates to the transgender community, as well as share from my own personal journey.
