Underground Enemies in America

Ad Lib:

Hate groups have risen much in the last four years, and many jobs have been lost in the last eight, that it makes sense that “idle minds are the devil’s playground.” It seems to me that many of the members of these hate groups are young men/people who are angry and impressionable. And isn’t that just how the RW wants it? The less jobs people have the more evil can be stirred up. Its a sick state we are in now. Do you think that if we got another Progressive in office after Obama leaves, that anything will change?

A Close Race and a Victorious Obama

Nice writeup Murph! Even people in other countries think Obama would be better for the US. But we have 40% that just don’t get that and want to stay in what you say is the “mythic past” that is largely white males in the workplace, and the women at home, cooking dinner and having babies, barefoot and pregnant.

How Republicans Are Trying to Sell Dying Younger to Voters

I think Ayn Rand was a miserable hater. She probably tortured animals.

» Posted By kalie On August 17, 2012 @ 2:26 pm

Great article. The GOP just really doesn’t get it and doesn’t really care. If i get laid off at 45, and there are no jobs, i am not funding anything for….several years now! And I am not over 55 so am stuck in the “death spiral”. How can people be laid off earlier, and they want to move back the social security age??? That makes about as much sense as starving my dog to death, and expecting him to play fetch with me. And then we want guest workers?? And others to take our jobs? Its just insanity.

The key to everything was the jobs bill and infrastructure projects that the GOP obstructed on. Now many of us have lost much. Jobs, houses, money, and how do we get that back if there are no jobs and because we are older, we are not desirable enough to hire??? Yes I’m waiting for Mittsy or Ryan the fakir to tell me the answer. They have wasted so much time and have been so anti-American. They need to be held accountable.

Weekend Music Thread – Trouble

Killgore did you listen to this one? Very good. Brings me back. I have seen most of the blues players from Chgo-Milwaukee many moons ago.

Saving Privatizing Ryan…As A Last Desperate Resort

Im working on that….

» Posted By kalie On August 12, 2012 @ 10:21 am

But then again, Ryan was a part of the Scott Walker debacle to bust unions and put Wisconsinites out of work. That is his legacy: dividing Wisconsin. What we don’t need is his divisiveness in the U.S. govt. Its wrong for America.

goleafsgo:
Sorry to inhibit the fist pump but the voter suppression has to be the most evil thing the GOP has done to date. But they are not done yet and i never underestimate what they will do to get (more) money and power. Evil knows no bounds. I know that their is litigation going on in the background but I wish Obama would be more vocal about what is going on. All i hear on TV is Romney this, Romney that, and its stifling. People that live in the south (where I vacation) don’t even get MSNBC so all they hear is 24X7 Faux noiz. So fist pump away, because if sanity rules, then it will be Obama/Biden 2012!!

» Posted By kalie On August 12, 2012 @ 10:15 am

So once again, the GOP has gone off the cliff and picked a very controversial VP. I think that there are probably even GOP members who would not be happy to lose their social security and medicare because it would result in a reduction of their fortunes. Now if we can just minimize the voter suppression or have it delayed in litigation, we can vote in Obama and more dems so they can get back to the work that really needs to be done. No more of this obstructing while America loses credibility in the world.

Romney in Wonderland

The polls i have seen lately on the mostly conservative (until late afternoon) MSNBC show that they are neck and neck. What polls are you seeing?

» Posted By kalie On July 13, 2012 @ 11:21 pm

Wonderful analogy Adlib! I feel like Im in a scary and unrealistic wonderland every time i turn the TV on and i have to listen to a so called conservative. Romeny is a tool and im worried that too many sheep just dont get it. I wish their was some way i could get through to more of them.

Conservative now means they are conservative with their money, while they seek to steal ours.

Figuring Out The Far Right Republicans

Murph:
I post on HP also, on the politics site mostly. I have noticed that there is so much anger and hatred, whenever i post about GUNS or Hispanics. Most of my views are liberal, as i am anti gun and would like to see a reasonable type of immigration enacted that doesn’t leave us middle classers paying the bill. Anything that disagrees with the NRA or Hispanic talking points is given a pretty angry and sometimes violent response. I tend to avoid those areas now since i don’t need that in my life. Just thought you might want to know.

Huffington Post Openly Launches Campaign to Attack Obama

You betcha!

» Posted By kalie On March 19, 2012 @ 8:22 pm

Ad Lib:

You know, i had no idea how racist we are, as a country, until Obama became POTUS. I am still disappointed. We live in our own little communities, and day in and day out, we don’t have to encounter what black people do. It makes me sick when people say they want “anyone but Obama” to be president. He is not the devil. He wants more for the people of the US than any of the other candidates. But yes, he is not the color of their choice. But what have the other candidates promised? Umm hell if you ask me. Taking away rights, regulations, austerity that doesnt work in Europe…. Yes wont that be grand? Anyone but Obama. Right?

Murph:
Dont know if we have met, but I have been on Huffpo for about 4 years and at Planet Pov occasionally since it started. Yes I think we have spoken before. Probably the last time i logged in was during a debate. I was looking for some intellectual conversation/comments and wasn’t disappointed!! It was fun.

» Posted By kalie On March 19, 2012 @ 7:58 pm

I first saw Obama when local organizations were trying to get him elected to the Senate. We gave away free hot dogs to folks at an outdoor venue, to get people to come hear him speak. He was very impressive, and I have been a fan ever since. Even seeing him speak at a Chamber of Commerce meeting, everyone was impressed with him, but many would never vote for him. Not from that group.

I read his first book and knew that when he got in office, he would be a progressive but he was not a far left liberal, which appealed to me, because I am not either.

I agree that Obama didn’t know the opposition and racism and hate he would face when he got in office. Who would have?

Regardless, now that we know who wants to play and who doesn’t, I think Obama is ripe for a second term. He has the training years behind him and i think the best is yet to come.

» Posted By kalie On March 19, 2012 @ 6:59 pm

Huffpo has become increasingly tiresome with all the trolls commenting. They seem very young and red and angry. I feel like AH is bipolar and the reporting, at times is high schoolish. Why she has to beat up on Obama when all the righties do it 24/7 is insanity. I have yet to see an article, anywhere, that says why ANY of the GOP would be good for our country. They wouldn’t, and most everyone knows it except the fundies, who continually confuse religion and government.

I think Romney did really well, but somehow, I think Paul came in second.

Doctors are against universal healthcare. I think they see their fortunes decline if less money is involved.

» Posted By kalie On January 26, 2012 @ 7:06 pm

Think of it this way. Puerto Rico can have universal healthcare (medicaid) but we cant.

» Posted By kalie On January 26, 2012 @ 7:05 pm

This is an election about getting all of the gop out of office.

» Posted By kalie On January 26, 2012 @ 6:59 pm

They dont want to be a state but getting medicaid is just fine. What else do they get that they obviously dont work for?

» Posted By kalie On January 26, 2012 @ 6:54 pm

Yeah he seems a bit on the edge.
