DADT’s Days are Numbered

Whey are Americans so obsessed with the sex lives of other people? It has always made me wonder if they were missing something in there’s.

Tea Party Conventional Wisdom or Nightmare

I agree with Sue. Sarah is a threat that should never be over-looked or underestimated. She is positioning herself to be the voice of the Republican party and the power broker. She doesn’t have the intellect to run a dog house, but she is shrewd enough use her conservative talking points to start a movement during our economic unrest. Add to that the SCOTUS decision and we could be in big trouble. It may be a stretch but look at Hitler. She is using the dissatisfaction from the right and left. We as liberals and progressives are divided as to what direction is best for us and the country. At the present time all we have is Obama and his agenda and although it may not be all that we want he is not pushing us off a cliff. WE are going to have to get rid of blue dogs and somehow get more dems elected.

Everyone Hates Rahm

I must be the only dissenter in the bunch. I’m not saying that I agree with the way that Rham has handled himself or his employment, but I don’t find him to be as offensive as the rest. There are many employers that portray the same character traits as Rham. I think the only reason his are scrutinized are because of his high profile positions. Cher feels that Rham brings a sense of shame and stigma to the Jewish people, all I can say is go see the movie Precious. We all have people or cultural stains that we would rather forget. I found Rham and his brothers to be over-achieving precocious brats. They probably all have horrible manners and are not what we seek to be, but I have seen worse.

if one looks at the president opposition, he needs an abrasive pit bull. I think that Rham and Obama being polar opposites in personality works. When you have a large diverse staff,a contentious congress, combined with the low information electorate, it requires that someone play the loud, heavy handed, obnoxious bully.

The Argument Against Obama

Totally agree. I have stopped looking and listening to some progressives, because of all the negativity. Ed Schultz is a good example, who has lost all credibility as far as I’m concerned. Intelligent discourse should create an environment that leads to meaningful dialogue, not total disenchantment. As adults we have to be able to negotiate, compromise and be flexible. If we choose to negate these traits, we become as extreme in our thinking as the teabaggers.

What would you like to hear in the State of the Union?

I want him to say that, This is America and the people have spoken. We will have healthcare, we will have job creation, and all those that obstruct can bail out wall street because he’s moved to main street. I want him to say that he extended his hand and it was rejected so try this fist.

I think I have you beat as far as age, but agree with your sentiments. I would like to see him stand his ground more firmly on all issues. I believe in compromise, negations, and flexibility. but only if the other side is willing. So far the Republicans have shown themselves to be nothing but obstructionist. I’m ashamed of the entire party. They have made us the laughing stock of the world. They have not shown that the people we elected know how to govern. They have presented our Democracy as a sham, by not working with the president. It also shows a lack of care and concern for the country on a whole.

Round One of the New President Obama: The Populist

I don’t blame President Obama for the failure of healthcare. I blame the liberal, progressive movement, that refused to move. We all knew that HCR was going to be an uphill battle and we sat. We sat, blogged, signed petitions and waited on congress. Where was the pressure ? When did we take to the streets in mass organized, fired -up ? We sat, watched and derided the “silly teabaggers” as they grew stronger in getting what they wanted. Never mind that they were ignorant to what socialized medicine actually was or that they were being used by their own party, they fought and are winning. We still sit in all our intelligence, knowing that we deserve better, yet we are losing the battle. I still think it’s a battle, because the war isn’t over. I, too am one that sat and waited so I like the rest bear the burden of not DEMANDING that change MUST come. My problem is how do we effect change ? We in the middle class can no longer sit and watch all that we have worked so hard for erode, because of a handful of people. We have fought since the inception of this county from the American Revolution, Civil Rights, Women’s Rights, Equality in the workplace, to Children’s Rights. So there is a way we just have to find it and I think we are smart enough to do that, but are we hungry enough to do it?

…..Rage Against The Machine…..

I’m sorry K Quark but I could never vote for a Republican. The fact that they put the interest of their party above the people of the country showed me who they really are. The mere thought that we have all these citizens of this country without nothing but emergency room care is appalling. We pay taxes just to fight wars ? This is an abominable ideology. A country’s first responsibility is to its people. We do have the right through hard work to pursue the course the constitution laid out for it’s people, but when one segment of the government obstructs just for purely political purposes then it’s time for the people to rid themselves of the blight. The primary problem is that most of the people in this country are content to be low -information voters. They like the herd mentality. Democracy is not by any means perfect, nor will it ever be. It like us is a continual work in progress.

Mass. Rationalizations

Throw in Ed Schultz along with Arianna. It amazes me that these supposed Pro-Democrats think you can build a party, up by tearing it down. They have became as bad as Faux News . I have tried to put up with Huffington, but between the trolls and the negativity from Huffington about the democratic party gave it up. We must learn that divide and conquer is good old party’s play book. So far I think the Democratic party is still in remediation and retardation.

A New Way To Fight Right Wing Trolls on HP

Thank God, sanity at last! I’ve been so frustrated at HP that I started to scream. I was beginning to think I was crazy. I really don’t know how you rid the site of ignorance, but the trolls are out with a vengeance and this weekend was horrible. Jan4insight was able to direct me here and I registered immediately. I will try to help HP but the drible is almost unbearable.
