» Posted By boomer1949 On February 12, 2010 @ 9:16 pm oh, he did say he was HIGH and I asked if it was Dilaudid, but he never answered. Dilaudid is wonderful. Forgot to mention there’s a guy in this. Can anyone find him? » Posted By boomer1949 On February 12, 2010 @ 9:04 pm I loved the wedding thing. Did you read what the couple has done with donations? When my daughters were quite young and unable to care for themselves, there were two, only two, individuals I would have trusted to raise them in my absence; my cousin and his partner. No, not my parents, no not my siblings, and no not my in-laws, but let’s not go there; a different topic for a different day. My girls have always known this (or at least the younger has). My cousin and his partner? Never had a clue. Why? Because I never told them and, for this, I am sorry; profoundly sorry. These two men would have had an extraordinary influence on my kids. So M & R, should you happen to read this, I have always respected you for you and not what the rest of the family expected or, God forbid, never acknowledged, then or now. God Bless you both; R & K would have thrived in your care. » Posted By boomer1949 On February 9, 2010 @ 1:46 pm HATE IN AMERICA, Part 2: Hate Speech and the First Amendment Anyone attempting to justify bad statements or bad behavior based on the First Amendment is hiding behind “Grandma’s skirts.” He can’t give a legitimate reason for doing what he does, yet relies on Grandma to protect him regardless. After awhile, his behavior becomes falsely condoned and he eventually gets away with murder. » Posted By boomer1949 On February 8, 2010 @ 5:16 pm Nooo, not what I meant my friend, but probably not the best example either. Back in the day, my day not yours, it was not uncommon for many of us to be manipulated. sub » Posted By boomer1949 On February 8, 2010 @ 6:02 pm It’s the old “subliminal message” controversy all over again. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YtFARfOhZmc Cue Twilight Zone theme. πΏ » Posted By boomer1949 On February 8, 2010 @ 3:58 pm Why Conservatives are Always WRONG Thanks Sanity — it’s bookmarked and on my reading list! » Posted By boomer1949 On February 8, 2010 @ 3:42 am Excellent piece marion — another nail on the proverbial head! πΏ » Posted By boomer1949 On February 8, 2010 @ 3:30 am Choice under new attack from Operation Rescue Bare foot, pregnant, Stepford Wives. π » Posted By boomer1949 On February 6, 2010 @ 3:50 pm javaz, Roeder is no different than a suicide bomber. Both were brainwashed into doing things they never could have dreamed up on his own. Operation Rescue is no different than al Qaida or any other terrorist organization. The only difference is that al Qaida steps up to the plate, taking responsibility. On the other hand, Operation Rescue (OR) knows full well that admitting any form of responsibility, would put the organization itself in jeopardy and in the cross hairs of the FBI and Justice Department. OR covertly convinced this guy to do what he did; and no I am not pleading his case. However, cult-like organizations (Sarah’s gang, TeaBaggers, the KKK, Charles Manson, Jim Jones, you name it) prey on the weak, the easily swayed, the easily convinced. Then, when those folks take the bait and jump off a cliff, the influencing organizations have the audacity to feign ignorance. It is not a light-bulb moment to figure out. » Posted By boomer1949 On February 6, 2010 @ 3:40 pm javaz, I just sent this to Operation Rescue: Dear Operation Rescue: Please explain who died and granted your testosterone run organization the right to tell me, or any other female in this country or elsewhere, what we should or should not do? Please enlighten me. On the other hand, please do not. Quite frankly, what I or any other female decides to do is none of your business, absolutely none of your business. Here are a couple of things you should know: 1. My reproductive years are way past their prime, however When an unexpected pregnancy occurs, how do you think it happens? Please enlighten me. Is it because the woman wills it, simply because she wants to have an abortion? I think not. The primary reason many women find themselves even considering such a decision is simply not one-sided. Last I heard, it takes males and females to make babies. So, if you are hell-bent to stop abortions, maybe your organization should begin by telling the male half of the baby-making equation to keep his pants zipped. Moreover, please sweep your own doorsteps before bringing your brooms to mine. » Posted By boomer1949 On February 6, 2010 @ 12:55 pm My daughters would be better contributors to the 90’s than I. One graduating from HS in ’91, going on to The University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, OH; the other graduating from HS in ’98, going on to Xavier University, Cincinnati, OH. I am all over the place musically, and enjoy many genres. In recent years however, I have become more of a PBS, NPR news geek. My music enjoyment comes from CDs and online programming; and less and less from “radio station” programming. I always appreciate hearing what you have to say, π This wasn’t the final version. I’d tweaked it for grammar, punctuation and the like. Somehow, I lost the final and then couldn’t restore it. I’m going to try to work on it over the weekend, and then re-post. Nevertheless, thank you for opinion. π » Posted By boomer1949 On February 5, 2010 @ 3:09 am Maybe “neglected” is a poor choice to use. Try overlooked, talked around, talked over, that kind of thing. I like Rachel and I know she is one smart cookie. She reaches millions of people, and I just think it’s sad she doesn’t reply to decent submissions, yet has the AH Bobble head doll speaking as Gospel. bito even mentioned it last night. I’m addressing her specifically because I’ve emailed her on more than one occasion. And yes, all the other political forces are part of it as well, and somehow we seem to be overlooked, ignored, because we don’t pay out the wazoo for advertising and lobbying. » Posted By boomer1949 On February 4, 2010 @ 1:28 pmComments Posted By boomer1949
2. Had I been in a situation requiring me to make such a personal decision so many years ago,
3. I doubt I could have done it, but
4. Do I believe it is my responsibility or my right to tell another woman what to do should she find herself in a similar situation?
5. The answer is an unequivocal NO!
