What and where is it exactly in my rhetoric that comes across as “angry”? Because my opinion differs from yours? HRC in fact recently stated these children need to be returned to their homes! Is she angry too? as for losing your home, you aren’t the only one! It is not a matter of barking up the wrong tree, it is a matter of RECOGNIZING the LAW! And we would all do well in appreciating first how these conditions came to pass in the first place and hold those responsible accountable. Of course, that might take some research, using puters’!

This country may in fact have the room, but what we haven’t are the resources. While we continue to struggle with our own economy, while there remains millions unemployed, losing their homes, to name just a few of the maladies that haunt the US, and while homelessness remains the issue it is, we may wish to exercise the laws we have in place before exhausting anymore resources and especially consider the circumstances as we know them. I’ve wondered for example, what mother is it that would allow a four year old or younger to travel hundreds of miles without her? There remains a lot more than meets the eye to this scenario. A lot more!

Seems odd to me that we can manage to send men to outer space and yet, have difficulty controlling our country’s borders! If we can bail out banks in the tens of billions of dollars for what essentially was their poor judgment, we can certainly build a fence to keep those out not entering this country legally, despite the cost, and honoring established laws!

If I recall, the verbiage “tear down that wall” came from a man, a past POTUS who I have absolutely no respect for whatsoever. How do you know they’ll be returning to “sure and certain death”? Why aren’t we extending our arms to the children in Ethiopia or the Congo who die as we write from hunger? My forebears came here in ships, against their will, many of whom in the millions upon millions died en route. I don’t know who destroyed Ellis and Angel islands, but I can tell you this….it wasn’t me!

I once worked for a city’s Roads, Bridges & Construction department. If anyone knew what all had to be done inorder to close a bridge, AND most importantly, who all had to sign off on it for any length of time, you’d know and appreciate that there just isn’t any possibility that the governor was unaware. That not only makes him a participant in the decision making, but a liar on top of that. What else needs to be said?

Though I hadn’t much in the way of respect for this clown from the door, whatever was evident is now long gone. One wonders when was it he’d decided he was Tony Soprano? And in the face of this debauchery with this supposed traffic study he claims no knowledge of, now we learn he’s inappropriately used Sandy funds? Yet gopers will defend him and what else can they do? Who else have they for 2016? The day we wake up to learn republicans have safely moved to an extremely minority position, is the day we celebrate. I’m thinkin’ Dom Perignon! Whose buyin’? 🙂

Well we may not even have to worry about it. Apparently there are 15 Senators (including the new guy, Booker and Casey from Pa, both of whom I’m pretty shocked about) who want us to increase sanctions on Iran and perhaps even go to war. Those Israeli lobbyists never stop. This time next year, the last thing we may want to celebrate is Christmas or if we do, we may just reach that mindset of less is more after all. War tends to accomplish that. What a pathetically sad country we are sometimes.

Christmas? Bah Humbug! When we allowed corporations and marketeers to take over, we lost it. For those of us sensitive to the real meaning of the season, we have some work to do. We’ll have to be careful though and not allow the fanatics in or we’ll soon find there won’t be any Christmas at all. A movement is necessary I think. One that asks each of us to volunteer our time and efforts to some needy cause or family for the duration of the holiday season. Collect money to replace a family’s furnace, buy coats and boots for those without, adopt a needy family overseas, the ideas are endless. The change is with the corporations and the marketeers, the change is within each and every one of us!

Well KT, what she thought and what it was …. two different animals. As an African American female dear, with a young black son, our people routinely experience this treatment and far worse. As for what they were looking for well…cavities have proven to hide a multitude of things. As long as the authorities treated her no differently than any other prisoner, they did their job.

OMGOSH I completely forgot about Dell, of course I’ve had similar conversations. And just as I took issue with the shoe throwing journalist who chose to humiliate OUR POTUS, I take issue with burning the American Flag. GWB was a dignitary, visiting another country and should not have had to be humiliated thus. The rules of etiquette appear to no longer to exist…..anywhere.

I have met many Indian people in my ex role as a banker and you couldn’t have sweeter folks in your acquaintance. One such family even invited me to their home during one of their many jaunts and I found myself honored by the invite. So I’m not down on Indian folks, I like those I’ve encountered here in the US. Your points are spot on AdLib and what upsets me most is had the US burned their flag, oh boy! I can’t begin to imagine their reaction should some of our US companies decide to pull up stakes and return home.

SPOT ON! Not a year goes by that utilities don’t rise, rents, cell phone bills, groceries, transportation, mail but gopers seem unable to support a minimal wage of $15.00. The last I heard, they were objecting to $10.00. With the support of Elizabeth Warren as well as a number of dem Congessional members, this is a fight that I think Obama could win if he gave it the attention and time it deserves. I realize he has quite a lot on his plate already but then….he asked for this job.

Those are indeed wise and sweet words my friend but it breaks my heart that they seemed to only be for the Newtown victims when in point of fact, our youth in this country die every single day, every single hour across this nation. No one ever seems to cry, let alone mourn for them. They are and remain forgotten. Newtown was horrific and so are the hundreds upon hundreds whose lives are lost in the streets of urban America. They too are victims.
