Sort of like why CEOs or politicians plunder America to the point where people lose their lives because of it. Is that any more ‘sane’ than what Joe Stack did?
Tons of ‘triggers’ in this life. It’s what you do in the crunch that defines you. I suppose after all that has happened to me I could just as easily snap and do something similar. Yet, I haven’t. Does that make me stronger than Joe Stack…..or weaker? Slippery slope…
We are all brainwashed to detest these events because they are all so horrible. Yet. like I said…we ALL feel very similar about many issues as this guy. Does that make us all insane? are we insane ALL of the time or just some…maybe when we get angry…are we insane then? Or is it just when we act OUT are we insane?
As I said, I do not condone the taking of innocent lives in any circumstance. I can, however, totally understand WHY this guy did what he did.
Again, there is no handbook to guide those of us in society that have no outlets or sounding boards to allow us a venue or platform to express serious concerns of this nature without sounding like kooks. Somehow the TeaBaggers can act like idiots, express pure hate, ignorance and racism and still get media coverage as though THEY represent America.
I do not condone the injury or death of innocents….anywhere…for any reason. But it’s a different matter when you speak of corporations and their CEOs, governmental bodies that snigger away in back rooms making deals that border on genocidal and those that would see this Nation fall for their next mega-annual bonus. I am not a pacifist. I used to be. Yet, this world and its evil have taught me to be wary and cynical. It may well be my life situation that has me so revved up, but I was well on my way to this point for years. To call Joe Stack insane or mentally ill is, well…to call me the same…and so many others that are fed up…and I don’t mean “fire off an angry email” fed up either. I want justice in my lifetime. We realize this world ‘owes’ us nothing. This is a mind-trap the MSM plays out for those that act out. Justice is what we want. There IS however a document in DC that DOES say I, as a US citizen, AM entitled to certain things in this Republic. and far too many of us watch as those entitlements fade away. How in the world are any of us supposed to pursue happiness when we as a tribe are left without care when we’re sick? Or we are monetarily destroyed by those that buy $4000k shower curtains? Or watch our jobs float off into the haze of another country as our car payments are due and we’ve lost our jobs? Eventually, we learn as Pavlov discovered. Or we fight…for things that ARE ours. But we can’t all act alone like Joe Stack. And we can no longer be pacifists I’m afraid.
There is no handbook. And to dissect the man that was Joe Stack is to take a scalpel to America. He was NOT mentally ill…he was frustrated, angry, wronged and, yes, depressed to see his America fail him…and all of us so badly.

Back in the 80s, I fronted a very short lived alternative band that never really got their sh*t together for any decent length of time. We had a cool name. Later I would publish an alternative newspaper using its name. I will let all of you decide if this fits the bill so to speak.
That’s partly why I included ‘militia’ in the name to underscore that we Libs are finished,…we are done being sweet and fair and conciliatory. We bring a bit of bite to the game along with a bark, so to speak.
And to be fair and balanced, (hehe) I don’t recall the national Mall filling with raging, furious throngs of Democrats when Bush stole our personal freedoms from us….not in TeaBag numbers anyway…There must be consequence to their actions or they will continue to rape us all….
For years, I have tried to wrangle people together for just this sort of movement, yet it dissolves as quickly as the enthusiasm fades. We Libs see a little bit of progress and we back off and wait for more change…and wait…and wait. Although this is the logical way to go, it is never the most defiant and resolved. I was actually putting together an on line podcast of just this idea. Sort of a counterpoint to Rush and Beck, etc…To actually stream an hour after their shows to provide the intelligent counter points to their talking points. I’m not able to do that now. Maybe someone here will pick up the torch for me on that matter.
Just like the Right, I feel this movement needs solid talking points, an infallible resolve to see change by way of our actions and persistent, unwavering attacks on the Right’s BS machine…not to mention an entire staff to report on the evil that IS the Conservative movement. As a former newsreporter I have to share with you what my editor told me 3rd day on the job. He said to write everything as though you were speaking to an 8th grader (never higher) and the more you declare something to be true…it soon will be. The Right has mastered this technique as it is their target audience. We have to be as clever or risk being labeled ‘elitists’ or the like. I am also in favor of usurping Right talking point targets. Each side loves to jump on the MSM (main stream media) for just about everything. Why not make it irrelevant by calling this movement the Main Street Militia and using MSM as our very own?

During the election here, I heard SO many people state that they’d be just fine with paying more in taxes if that meant universal HC would be borne out. Well, that faded. However, what seems to tickle my WTF bone is the straight up, rock solid fact that our taxes ALWAYS GO UP with every Administration! Oh and ask anyone that isn’t batshit crazy if our Tax System isn’t as whack (is this urban street term still relevant in the Negro community? Mr. Reid is curious) as our HC industry! So, go figure.
I have yet to uncover, report on or smell signs of ANY Federal program, organization, committee, watch-dog group, think tank, research project, quorum, fellowship group on C Street, military endeavor or any gathering of more than one-half of one living human being in our government that is not currently corrupt and basically evil on some, many or most levels.
Let me ask this: How does a people cleanse itself of all of this evil? I would love to start a committee to research this….
Now that you’ve educated me about his unbridled wealth lust and hypocritical posturing, (ON A GLOBAL SOCIAL NETWORKING SITE NO LESS!) I have concluded my relationship with this…pig. There were times as I watched his show that I thought he had no idea what to say and when he HAD a contribution, he NEVER got the delivery quite right. Maybe that’s his style, yet I thought it smacked of amateurishness….and weak.
I watched Religulous and thought that there was SO much more that could have been done with the concept. But it made Conservatives angry so I supported it.
Hollywood IS moving more towards the center and it only figures now that entertainers are bringing in tens of millions of dollars for mediocre performances at best. Even actors today aren’t rushing to be stars and starlets because they yearn with a fire to act as magnificently as the talent of olde, no…I’m afraid every day in the industry is now simply an American Idol or Survivor audition and whomever can out-game the next sad sack wins….money…wins lots and lots of money…
