The good news is that voters seem to be very determined and are waiting as long as they have to, calling on election lawyer hotlines to help them get to vote or cast provisional ballots and telling everyone they can to get out and vote. My hope is that the Blue Wave will be a tsunami that produces bigger wins than the polls could track because of all the new voters that are pouring out to vote. It will take until after the 2020 election but if Dems can win at least The House today and then The Senate and WH in 2020, the first thing they should do is pass a new Voting Rights Act that requires paper ballots nationwide (so no hacking or malfunctioning machines can corrupt, prevent or hugely delay voting) and restrictions on Voter ID, voter purging and other voter suppression tactics. It also would be a good idea to include a law against conflicts of interest that bar a Secretary of State from overseeing and manipulating his/her own election. We will win today simply because there are more of us than there are of them and our voters will not accept being prevented from voting. I’m heading out in a little bit to vote myself! As I mentioned above, it does finally give me a sense of power over Trump and what he’s been doing to our country.
