Why not ship the oil to the nearest refinery and distribute it from there? We don't need to put a pipeline across one of our biggest aquifers. Both North and South Dakota have refineries.
The stakes with stopping carbon dioxide buildup are huge. The value of the un-drilled oil and methane and coal is in the trillions and if you think the oil and gas companies are going to write off those investments without a huge fight, I have a bridge to sell you.

What the UK is doing sets a good example . Recovering waste land for the production of clean energy is a win win situation. The UK is leading the way to repair the wounds inflicted on this earth.
The warming we've seen is setting feedback loops that guarantee higher levels of warming. The melting of the Siberian permafrost means thousands of gigatons of methane (more damaging as greenhouse effect than carbon dioxide) released into the atmosphere.
What we need today is Electric cars that have batteries that can hold a charge longer and be recharged by a solar array. It needs to be inexpensive to buy so we can get more of them on the road and fewer of the internal combustion engines.
