    Considering the topic of this weekend’s music theme, here’s a story that shows the degree of fear the Arab Spring has inspired:

    Saudi king allows women to vote in local elections

    RIYADH, Saudi Arabia – Saudi King Abdullah announced Sunday that the nation’s women will gain the right to vote and run as candidates in local elections to be held in 2015 in a major advancement for the rights of women in the deeply conservative Muslim kingdom.

  21. Beatlex says:

    Woman-John Lennon

    • Truth says:

      Oops -- sorry Beatlex, I overlooked that you had posted that song already earlier. Anyhow, the video I chose above has some nice pictures too…

    • AdLib says:

      Hey Beatlex, nice to see you here and thanks for the Lennon tune!

      • Beatlex says:

        Thx AdLib!Hp is making a mountain out of a mole hill over Cain winning a meaningless straw poll,unless your Rick Perry or Michelle Bachmann!

        • AdLib says:

          Cain polls in the single digits everywhere, he is plainly not a competitor.

          As Funksands mentioned, Cain got 900 votes in a straw poll…which is a bribed vote and has nothing to do with democracy. He bought the votes, plain and simple, that’s how a straw poll works. This was his big hurrah and he invested his money in this while others didn’t bother.

          HP needs to keep people’s hair on fire, it’s all about the clicks over there, not reality. They’re in the hysteria manufacturing and selling business and business is good but continuing to decline, thank goodness.

  22. zenith1959 says:

    Patsy Cline, “Crazy”

  23. Janis Ian--At Seventeen;

  24. AlphaBitch says:

    My favorite “chick” -- Natalie Maines (“We’re ashamed the President is from Texas”) -- who DOES speak for me! Tear it up,little one….

    Let ‘Er Rip

    • kesmarn says:

      Love those Dixie Chicks, AB!

      • AlphaBitch says:

        I ESPECIALLY love that little one, Kes! I wanted to make t-shirts when they “boycotted” the Chicks for Natalie’s pop off about George W. (which, BTW, I totally agreed with). Jes sayin’ “Natalie speaks for me”. Pink, with sparkly girly print.

        • kesmarn says:

          I totally agreed with her statement, too, AB, and I’m not even from Texas! I always felt that the Chicks’ career took quite a hit because of that, too, and it was a shame.

          These Defenders of the Constitution on the right are all about free speech for corporations, but not for anyone who disagrees with them!

  25. Astrud Gilberto--The Girl From Ipanema;
