John Lennon was an influence on many lives world wide.  From the early Sixties in clubs in Germany and Liverpool, England, to his murder in New York City.

From The Quarrymen to John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band and a little stint with a group known as the “Beatles.”

I Want To Hold Your Hand – The Ed Sullivan Show (1964)

As much as his music, I remember his time as a peace activist and his battles with J. Edger and President Nixon.  Some weird stuff there!

Kalima in her “Morning Blog” and Haruko Haruhara (HH) got a jump on this the other day with their posts “Where you 30 years ago today when you heard? , and I hope everyone had a chance to read, enjoy and comment.

Enough with the words, let’s hear some music!  When you think of John Lennon, what music comes to mind ?

Enjoy, Remember and PEACE.

Some of his roots

Stand by Me

John Lennon sings Buddy Holly

I wasn’t sure about this expression until a friend from England explained it to me.

The Beatles- Why Don’t We Do It In The Road

The list is endless—Carry On.

I think was the first album that they used a 64 track recorder, amazing at the time. What an antique compared to digital machines today. :-)

The No. 1 Beatles’ song of all time, according to Rolling Stone. And they’re more hip than you and I, don’t you forget it!

Never mind the McCartney in the beginning!
