Greed seems to rule when it comes to coal, oil, fracking, and the nuclear industries. Renewable energy sources are available and if the big corporations would put some of their obscene profits into solar, electric cars, wind, and geothermal energy we could start to reverse some of the harm done.
I got a call from a recruiting Sgt. at work. He said "Why don't you join the Army boy?" My response was "No thanks, I'll take my chances with the draft." That was the wrong thing to say to a recruiting Sgt., only two weeks later I got my first draft notice in the mail.
  Have you ever asked yourself why someone would decide that it was somehow important to conduct comparatives studies on the intellectual outcomes of human beings based solely on skin color? What's the end goal of these types of studies?...
On a day when some of these same homophobes who are marching in their "No Gays Need Apply" parades will be dressed in brightly colored clothes, descend on bars in droves getting drunk and hanging all over other men then possibly end up on their knees in a toilet stall, they are hardly in a position to judge others on their behavior as being socially undesirable.
Those who have propagated bigotry and hatred for profit like Rush Limbaugh and Fox News have so saturated society with it, that people who join that horrible chorus feel that they are just doing the normal thing.

It occurred to me after I published MMT Part 1 that perhaps it wasn't the best introduction to MMT. I condensed a lot of information into a relatively short post. Shortly before publishing the post I ran across a video illustrating how modern money works and attached it to the end of the post.
