» Posted By zenith1959 On February 25, 2012 @ 6:47 pm It’s in Seattle, the ads say “For the last time ever in North America”, but can’t tell how true that is. Great combo of everything from large stone statues to small jewelry, cool to think about someone carving big rocks or making intricate jewelry over 3,000 years ago. » Posted By zenith1959 On November 11, 2012 @ 12:47 pm Saw Neil Young and Crazy Horse last night, awesome as usual. Also saw the King Tut Exhibit, recommend both if you get the chance. » Posted By zenith1959 On November 11, 2012 @ 7:37 am Have to share this, Santana is putting out a new album of the best guitar classic rock tunes. I can’t recall the song but I remember one of their jams just falling apart once. My most “magical” musical moment was actually during a long jam by Burning Spear(by far, best reggae band I have ever seen) at Bumbershoot. I was sort of dancing with my eyes closed on a nice sunny day, and just ended up in a very different place. Suddenly the song ended, the crowd started cheering, I opened my eyes, looked around at my friends and saw I wasn’t the only one. I liked the reaction of the 15 year old neighborhood kid I took along, he had his hands clasped over his mouth and uttered, “Oh my God” a few times. » Posted By zenith1959 On November 19, 2011 @ 8:43 pm This was one of my favorite songs for several years of my starting out on my own life » Posted By zenith1959 On November 19, 2011 @ 8:28 pm Not a vid, but a good site for music lovers http://www.archive.org/browse.php?collection=etree&field=%2Fmetadata%2Fcreator » Posted By zenith1959 On November 19, 2011 @ 8:10 pm Weekend Music Thread – Animal Attraction

Lets punk up Simon and Garfunkel » Posted By zenith1959 On October 22, 2011 @ 7:57 pm Tina Turner “Get Back”. Saw her at a club in Seattle in the early 80’s, think she was starting her comeback, and she opened with this. Liked the show so much bought tickets for the second show that same night. » Posted By zenith1959 On October 22, 2011 @ 7:50 pm Weekend Music Thread – Guilty Pleasures Alice Cooper was the first concert I went to(I think it was 1974) and the leaders of the Turtles, touring as “Flo And Eddie” opened, so they were the first big rock band I saw. » Posted By zenith1959 On October 15, 2011 @ 5:08 pm I think I’ll just take the opportunity to play some of my favorites, » Posted By zenith1959 On October 15, 2011 @ 5:06 pm I saw him in the early 80’s and have to admit, was just familiar with his unusual “funny songs”, but it was one of the tightest bands I have ever seen, and was amazed at what a good guitarist he was. I don’t know what song he closed with, but I still remember being blown away by his long guitar “solo” while the band jammed on behind him. I also recall the image of him directing the band with a baton several times during the show. » Posted By zenith1959 On October 15, 2011 @ 5:01 pm Not a guilty pleasure, a relevant song(and it’s from 1966) by perhaps the most underrated musician in rock, Frank Zappa “Trouble Every Day” » Posted By zenith1959 On October 15, 2011 @ 4:26 pm Not really a guilty pleasure(except maybe for that one line) » Posted By zenith1959 On October 15, 2011 @ 4:22 pm Weekend Music Thread – We’re Not Gonna Take It! Not quite your traditional protest song, but I think it qualifies. When I was a teen in the mid 70’s, I played this almost every day, Black Sabbath “War Pigs”, this is live, it’s fun to see young Ozzy make up some lyrics as he goes along https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xtqy4DTHGqg » Posted By zenith1959 On October 8, 2011 @ 4:25 pm How about a little anarchy(in the UK)? » Posted By zenith1959 On October 8, 2011 @ 3:07 pm Don’t think anyone has done this one yet, very appropriate for the current times, Wall Street, Michael Moore and Rage Against The Machine » Posted By zenith1959 On October 8, 2011 @ 2:52 pm Weekend Music Thread – The Boys Are Back in Town Howlin’ Wolf “Spoonful” » Posted By zenith1959 On October 1, 2011 @ 5:25 pm Weekend Music Thread – Ladies Night (and Day) Scanned and posted a few more pictures I took of Kesey, thought you might like to see them https://picasaweb.google.com/115294733606976390235/Kesey » Posted By zenith1959 On September 25, 2011 @ 5:34 pm The eastside produced Quennsryche too, that slight geographic shift made the story sound better. » Posted By zenith1959 On September 25, 2011 @ 5:29 am Patsy Cline, “Crazy” » Posted By zenith1959 On September 24, 2011 @ 6:33 pm Always liked this song, Carly Simon, “You’re So Vain” (There are no ladies in the band, but when I was looking for this, I saw a banner ad that at 5:00 PM PDT, Youtube is streaming the Red Hot Chili Peppers live from Rio)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b6UAYGxiRwU » Posted By zenith1959 On September 24, 2011 @ 3:48 pm I saw them quite a few times. Once when they were really big, they played two shows at a Seattle club(Parkers). I bought dinner tickets and somehow got the second table from the stage right in the center. A nice salmon dinner, a few bottles of wine, a few other drinks, and it was dancing on the chair time. » Posted By zenith1959 On September 24, 2011 @ 3:08 pmComments Posted By zenith1959
