Chuck E. Cheese Meets Huffington Post

Atrophy in terms of: weakening or lessening of some ability. I could have found a better word. I was going for the model of a “static” system vs. a “dynamic” system and the resulting qualities inherent to each. Without a doubt a static system does not create or change; it atrophies. So if it does attract a lot of denominators of a lower origin then they will just increase the presence of nothing. Consequently, this will dilute and or erode hope or both. Isn’t it in plain sight: Huffpo’s shifting values being more or less the antithesis of an honest progressive community? Seriously, a throwback to the social order of junior high school is exactly what we have today masquerading as the GOP. Watching Huffpo slide into the domain of imbeciles is disgusting. Presently, there seems to be only one other collective in our culture that is our nations sick pond of dysfunctional political discourse and that is the GOP and their Palinesque dimwitted world view. Isn

Huffpo is a pointless and directionless repository of incomplete and unsubstantial rubbish. To make matters worse it rewards stupidity and encourages ignorance. The social hierarchy established by fanning encourages a static representation of community destined to atrophy. Decomposition into a putrid quagmire of festering fear ridden hatred is all but unavoidable. Hey, what

Let’s All Give Thanks for Bob McDonnell

So your car has a couple dents and a flat tire. It’s still a good car right?. But some folks would rather scrap it than fix it up right? Well not everyone gets to drive a perfect car. A lot of us drive what we have and make it work for as long as we can. America is a lot like good car with a few things that need to get fixed. Only a fool tries to fix a flat when the car is moving. Don’t ask cause I don’t know. It just works better that way.

My favorite topic: God. I have come the long way to arrive at my destination which is the beginning of my journey. A wise astrophysics professor that taught my astronomy class in college put it simply:

Sarah needs a visit from the brain fairy. That’s the one that leaves a brain instead of a quarter. I think Sarah opted for the quarters. Otherwise how could we expalin her 2 bit intelligence???

I love it – great piece.

Don’t Forget to Have Fun

I found the photo at Yahoo news this morning. It was taken during his recent trip to Iowa. The picture has him in a bookstore shopping for books for his daughters. Not a PS.

Added a better photo and link to gallery of his trip (above in the post).

I don’t remember where exactly I got it – it was a photo I found doing a Google Images search.

I was putting together a video of Palin. I posted the video at Huffpo when I had it finished under the moniker Jellinek.

Here’s the video:

This is just a bit off topic – topic of Palin’s Facebook page. However, I thought out of consideration I’d confine Palinism to this thread and not begin littering the POV site with additional Palin posts.

I was going to post a link to a video I made about Palin but when I got to YouTube I found this clip and began to watch it. I will just say that I was glad I hadn’t had breakfast yet.

Hang in there.

I am not a member of Facebook and I don’t want to be – been there done that. I don’t imagine much would happen by reporting her page via Facebook. After all – she drives a lot of business their way. I am thinking it has to be brought to them outside of their immediate domain and sphere of influence.

I don’t know for sure. What do you think Facebook might be inclined to do?

I think that is right on target

Hey Jesus, Are You Packing Heat?

Jesus would be like my drill instructor. He would insist on fire discipline, a good sight picture and interlocking fields of fire. He would never tolerate a dirty weapon. He would expect every one of his Marines to be an expert marksman and fear the wrath of God should any of them fail to live up to the commitment of upholding the constitution of the United States and protecting her from all enemies foreign and domestic.

Jesus might be able to turn the clusterphuck of raggedy assed shitbirds called tea baggers into respectable citizens in the period of 13 weeks normally used to make a recruit into a Marine. However, there might be some problems. Thank God for hell. That’s where Jesus will send the nonhackers. And by the looks of it – we’ve got a shitload of nonhackers in this goddamn tea party.

BTW – Jesus would like a Colt M16A1 His sidearm – obviously a Colt model 1911 45ACP. Jesus is old school.

Keep Your Head Low and Your Powder Dry

Thanks for the really cool words. I remember just before the storm in early 90s a group called Alice In Chains put out an album and on it was a song called “Man in the Box.”

At the time I was working in a machine shop and I had a job that had me in the office doing CAD work. In this office was my boss and his wife. I admit I was a bit naive and perhaps ignorant back in those days however, it didn’t take me long to sense there was some agenda other than machine shop business. Indeed – these two “small business owners” seemed to be concerned with things like abortion and Jesus and taxes.

I quietly smirked when the Alice In Chains song played on the radio out in the shop and could be easily overheard in the office. The words filtered through the air and landed upon the ears of the bosses wife. Her reaction was precious:

I’m the man in the box
Buried in my shit
Won’t you come and save me, save me

Feed my eyes, can you sew them shut?
Jesus Christ, deny your maker
He who tries, will be wasted
Feed my eyes now you’ve sewn them shut

I’m the dog who gets beat
Shove my nose in shit
Won’t you come and save me, save me

Feed my eyes, can you sew them shut?
Jesus Christ, deny your maker
He who tries, will be wasted
Feed my eyes now you’ve sewn them shut

Feed my eyes, can you sew them shut?
Jesus Christ, deny your maker
He who tries, will be wasted
Feed my eyes now you’ve sewn them shut

In these days when the Right Wing is purveying their self-righteous sensibilities once again with a particular fervor, I look back at that time in the office with some fondness. I still admire Alice In Chains and the message they were giving us back then. Seems good now too.

She Said What?!?

Well, I guess it depends on several things as you probably are aware of. The consequences of holding people accountable for their actions are not always predictable. Morally, you have an obligation to be true to yourself. Company policy? Yeah whatever. That’s going to be a slippery slope if you dare try it out. A lot of that crap in those policies is there “just because.” Actually try to get it into play and you’re going to find out just what the word “shit” really means.

Okay, here’s what it comes down to IMHO
You say you’re sans car and she’s being cool for giving you rides.
You probably feel like you’d be betraying her for busting her. Moral conflict or selfishness? You have to decide what principal is at play here. Or, let me put it to you like this: do you mind walking or riding the bus or would you rather live with your conscience bothering you for enabling a moron? What is the price you’re paying to maintain your relationship with her and the company? Is payback going to be a piece of your soul? Seems like you’re already looking for a reason to rationalize your disapproval of her and her actions. But I see it going a step further by gathering even more reasons to dislike her. You realize that what she said about the president and what she listens to on the radio are two separate things and you are assuming one leads to another? That can be a big assumption and it is also judgmental. She may not have the right to make racial remarks at work but she can listen to whatever gasbag is on the radio. If you need to use that as some sort of evidence to build you case against her then I think your reaching too far.

My gut reaction to your story fell completely on your side. I wanted to tell you to bust that bitch right here and now. I think a lot of us feel that way about it. However, if (IF) you can walk away from this and ask God for strength and tolerance you will retain your piece of mind and composure. You will be an example for your co-worker to follow. That takes more courage than simply being a whistle blower in this case. Yeah you’re right and she’s wrong. It’s not going to be the last time you’re going to have to make this call and moreover, it’s important to pick your battles wisely.

You show great wisdom already by asking for help from other people.
This also shows courage and humility. I think you’ve got what it takes to make the right decision.

These are hard times for all of us.

Peace
