The Inevitable Romney Campaign Theme: Hate the Black Man

AdLib, you have shone a light on the 800 pound elephant in the room. I find it hard to believe that race didn’t play a part in the minds of a lot of people in 2008. After Sarah Palin showed herself to be the idiot she is, people still preferred her instead of the very intelligent black guy. Race was and is a factor.

Ann Romney said “it’s our turn”. That says it all. Mitt will say absolutely anything if he believes it will get him a step closer to the White House. He will accept the endorsement from the lowest excuse for a human being if he thinks it will get him one more vote.

I have a few concerns about the election. 1) Voter suppression 2) Diebold voting machines 3) Democrat turnout 4) Some voters may be nervous about PBO and what his agenda will be his second term. Given my concerns, I expect President Obama to win.

Breaking Down MSNBC

Stephanie Miller on Current TV is an unwavering supporter of President Obama. Bill Press is a supporter as well, although he can be wishy washy.

Is Mitt Romney a Sociopath?

From Politico (YUK)
…Former Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell became the latest Dem to step up and defend private equity, calling President Barack Obama’s Bain attacks “disappointing.” The big caveat with Rendell is that he currently works for a law firm, Ballard Spahr, that has a big mergers-and-acquisitions practice, and sells its private-equity expertise in these terms: “Our more than 70 M&A/private equity attorneys represent buyers (both strategic and financial) and sellers ranging from small, privately held companies to multinational public companies in transactions that span small and middle markets to multibillion-dollar mergers.

Similar disclaimers apply to other critics of the Bain strategy. It’s been widely noted that Cory Booker raised big cash from private equity and other financial services companies. Since leaving office, Harold Ford has worked for Bank of America and Morgan Stanley. Ex-auto czar Steven Rattner actually founded a private equity firm and ended up in legal hot water for his finance activities. So when these guys chastise the Obama campaign, it’s not as if they’re speaking from an unbiased perspective.

Follow the money! These rogue Dems have monied interest that trump Party, the President & in Booker’s case constituents.

Vote for Romney and We are Sunk: Look at His Record

Great article, Murph. My insomnia is keeping me up, but I’m glad I found your article. BTW, I tweeted it.

Promises Kept by President Obama

Thanks AdLib for the great info and I can’t wait to see the documentary.

Just a word of caution re Politifact: Recently they have been discredited by several people including Rachel Maddow for inaccuracies in the “truth” – to “pants on fire” ratings.

LIVE BLOG – GOP Debate at 5:00 PM PST in SC – 1/19

I hate cheap no-quality foreign-made goods. I get pissed every time I buy something that says “Made in China” and that’s almost EVERYTHING!

LIVE BLOG – GOP Debate in SC – 6:00 PM PST

As someone on Twitter said, they aren’t using dog whistles they have a doggone PA system.

I haven’t seen this much racism on display for the nation to witness in a while.

I heard a union rep from the steel company in SC that went bankrupt twice, thanks to Bain, say SC is LAST in education. He said SC Republicans know to keep the people dumb so they can control them. Based on what I’ve heard, the guy seems to be right on the money.

GOP Tax (Pledge) Breaks

CL, I agree with all that you say. My one worry is the economy. If we don’t get the tax cuts and UI, the economy will suffer. The growth of the economy will slow and I’m not so sure that people are engaged enough to blame Congress rather than PBO. Usually, the President gets the blame when the economy is doing poorly.

Hey bito,

I listened to the entire segment. It seems that the bill was improved in the Senate. Also, the Congresswoman says that she will introduce all ideas as amendments if it will make it better. After listening, I don’t think this bill is terrible. However, I also think that we may have to wait and see.

I need a little understanding of the “Jobs Bill” the President just signed. It seems some Dems, including my Congressional Rep Donna Edwards, didn’t vote for the bill. I had taped the Bill Press show now on Current TV, and he said he loves the President, but the President was wrong to sign this bill. I’d love to hear some opinions regarding the good, the bad and the ugly of this bill and should the President have signed it. I happen to trust the President and I don’t think he would sign a bill that would undo needed regulations. But I’m not sure about this bill.

I watched Lawrence yesterday. His guests were Goldie Taylor and Toure. Actually, it was quite sickening. Lawrence talked about what a good guy Brietbart was in private. Goldie and Toure felt it was just so unkind to say anything negative about the man. Toure sorta hit him around the edges, but he wouldn’t come out and say what an asshole Breitbart was and nobody mentioned ACORN. If fact, I’ve seen very little reference to ACORN and how he was instrumental in destroying that organization. People’s good works are not forgotten when they die. Why should their bad actions be forgotten?

Kes, I don’t think they’ll do it. But some sponsors are pulling their ads from Rush’s show. Some even tweeted that they were pulling their ads. The only one I can remember of the top of my head is the makers of Sleep Number beds. But there were others.

“Out in the open” is something I have been pondering for some time. Whether its the blatant callousness of those that think like Romney, the unAmerican loyalty oaths imposed by someone like Norquist, the coercion methods of the Murdock crime family, the off the rails narcissism of the far left, the schemes of crazy billionaire ideologues like the Koch brothers, the hypocrisy of the religious right as they support philandering candidates, the amazing racism and nativism of segments of our older population, the Rove, et al plots to stack the courts, the dominionism philosophy of so called Christians like the C Street crowd, the dissembling of the corporate stooges in the Dem party like Evan Bayh and Joe Lieberman, the terrible conditions that workers in other countries like China are being subjected to to supply us with products, the ravages of deregulation on our financial systems, the use of our prison systems as free labor, the weird connections between Libertarianism and the John Birch society, the uber right Catholic war on women’s reproductive rights, the secessionists and anarchists on the right that I didn’t know existed, the “free market” mentality of Margaret Thatcher and Ronald Reagan and the connections to totalitarianism or the attacks on voter rights and collective bargaining rights that have been planned for all of us. If all of this and so much more is out in the open we have a better chance of standing together to fight it.

Absolutely Kes. I know it’s mostly Republicans who say he hasn’t done anything in three years – they just lie, but we do have some lefties that like to repeat that lie. So I just thought we could pass this on when we hear the nonsense.

I though Kroft was very condescending, but the President stayed classy as always. I don’t have a problem with hard questions, I have a problem with questions like, “when was the last time you beat your wife”.

What is he being pure about? The Repubs want to pay for the extension by freezing fed workers pay and laying off 200,000 fed workers. The Dems wanted to pay for it by a surcharge on millionaires.
