To put it very simply, there wasn't any need for a Gestapo style raid, they were on their way to work. They were trying to support their families, put food on the dinner table.
ICE and the D.A. endangered small children, after planning for months, and never thought of the safety or welfare of the kids that would obviously be traumatized and left without care providers! Whether or not the District Attorney had a valid legal goal or purpose; they behaved monstrously to attempt to achieve it.
When people start saying ‘he can’t be racist because he has (your minority of chose goes here) in his cabinet,’ I’m looking for something to Hulk smash. First, it’s one of the most ignorant things one can say, second, it’s insulting to the individual they are using in an attempt to prove Trump is not a racist.
Consider Trump's campaign of terror on immigrants and people of color, from the Muslim Ban to Trump's demagoguing of Latinos as dangerous threats to white Americans to tearing babies away from their parents and locking them in torturous conditions. Isn't he trying to illegally terrorize people in pursuit of political aims? That is the exact definition of terrorism.
Racialism excludes, but racism segregates. Racialism is a personal decision. Racism is political. Racialism serves no practical purpose. Racism, in the hands of a demagogue, can control the fates of nations and the lives of millions.
The dehumanisation of humans is always a step too far and it allows those who defend policies that lead to the images posted above with weak excuses of blaming parents for trying to save themselves and their families from brutality, starvation and fear.
