A proposal for a Climate Change damage mitigation project, proposing a National Water Management Agency to reduce floods, mitigate damage from droughts and generate needed supplies of potable water. Your comments, critiques and suggestions are welcomed.
Let me explain. The rhetoric from mainstream climate groups (and many scientists) over the past few years has sounded something like this: ‘if we don’t seriously reduce our carbon dioxide levels, our grandchildren will be in big trouble by 2100’. With that deadline 84 years away, the tendency is to become complacent. But nearly all such assertions about a 2100 deadline are based on carbon dioxide concentrations alone.
Our democracy has been collapsing under the weight of corruption that accompanies minority rule. The majority should rule and should have their will followed by their representatives. All of the issues listed above are supported by a solid majority of Americans who have been constantly thwarted by the perversion of our elections and government. It is a time for action. It's time to kill the filibuster and do the people's work.
It shouldn't take a disaster for humanity to rise up and override the division and pettiness so pervasive in human beings. In an ideal world, when we wake up every morning, we should remind ourselves of the tragedies that brought out the best in us, know that we are those same people and demand of ourselves to be those people every day of our lives.
