TRUMP: "I was thinking about this yesterday while someone was trying to brief me on something "urgent", I wasn't paying attention to their boring screams because I was thinking about this...what if I dropped nukes all over the U.S., you know, in the air, so it didn't harm any businesses. The radiation would come down so beautiful, like an invisible hero to kill the invisible enemy, Corona."
On a graph, this looks like a steep hill that we are just starting to climb. It's very steep this time, and it will likely overwhelm our resources, medical and otherwise. That's when the war really starts.
Donald Trump is willing to destroy lives, and allow who knows how many unnecessary deaths, because to tell the truth, would end his presidency and destroy his chances for re-election.
TRUMP: "You know me, everyone knows me as the calm, peaceful, soothing president, right? 'Mr. Peace' they call me, sometimes 'Mr. Peace of' something, I can't remember what."
Call this my third Essay on living with ADD and Depression and Anxiety… I had the most respect for these people. Not asking for a handout, just mutual support and understanding - and as always - laughing at the farce and foibles of life as you never can. Interconnectedness isn't just philosophy, it is the way of the Universe. Balance, harmony, co-existence; they aren't social experimentation. They are survival gear. Balance! It wasn't wishful, or "aspirational" thinking that made Trump lie in the first days of this epidemic. Lies that may eventually kill millions. Maybe it's because Mafia thugs always lie - it's the air that they breathe. Maybe human life is of no value, according to Trump. It really doesn't matter. Maybe there's no reason, and Trump is insane.
Dr. Lee makes sense of Trump's pathology. She defines him medically, and so well that we begin to feel that there may be a solution, an antidote, to Trump and Trumpism. They are diseases. They have causes. And terrible consequences. Like the virus, if we don't stop them, and put an end to them, they may put an end to us.
So, if you grab every book on the subject of Epidemiology that you can get your grubby hands on, and erase everything relating to pandemics; then viruses don't exist anymore, right? That seems to have been Trump's only strategy, figuratively speaking - the only thing he could come up with, during the first stage of the Coronavirus Global Pandemic.
"Have you seen what the Antifa radicals have been doing to these helpless symbols of white supremacy? I mean, 'our heritage'? It's disgusting. They've thrown paint on them, pulled them down, even moved one into the corner of my office," Trump complained until being told he was pointing at Mike Pence.
