A friend sent me a still photo of my first appearance on Television in 1958. It was St. Patrick's Day, March 17. My dad, Noah Purcell, was the subject of 'This Is Your Life' on the BBC.
I was to be a Dad at a circus food stall with hyper kids wanting everything in sight. Behind me is my parked car and on taking a quick glance around, see to my unbelieving eyes, an Elephant smashing the back of it.

I used to be a member of the Irish Aero Club, which operated out of Dublin Airport for many years. One day, in the early 1970’s in the middle of the ‘Troubles”, I was filing a flight plan for a local trip, when someone I had never met before came into the Club to retrieve his Cessna which had been serviced.

My father was Noel Purcell, Actor, Comedian and Freeman of the City of Dublin. I do want to share the real man behind the Stage and Screen star, his pride in his work, his incredible humility for all his success but most of all, I want to show him as MY DAD!
