    Good night, all. Sweet dreams……..

Agree. The more time I spend here, the more I realize how well set up it is, and how much easier it is to have a real conversation without the trolls swarming like irritating mosquitoes.

One thing I like--and I know it’s a detail, but here it is--is the chance to edit a post after you’ve composed it. I don’t know how many times on Huffie I would spot a typo or something in what I had written, right after I had pushed the button, and there wasn’t a thing I could do about it, except post a reply to my own comment with the correction. Here, you have the edit option and you can fix stuff before it hits the page. Great!

I like that we don’t have to code everything…the trolls are out in force tonight, seems that on the main witty one liners are the thing…anything more than seven words and you wind up five pages back…

I don’t know. I just kept throwing them out and reeling them in. Fish in a barrel.

        • BigDogMom says:

Sarah, you were having a wonderful time tonight weren’t you! You were great, you played her well…

          • FeloniousMonk says:

It was hard to stay “in character” or psuedo-character tonight. I did get serious a few times.

Of course, if you go back to the first on my day, I offended GringoLingo badly and he made a wild accusation, but quickly shut up about it when I presented him with a definition of the word I used. Willt tried the same road and he gave up on it too. But I did target the daffy duck guy, who really burns me.

I got bashed by a few of the women for my choice in avatars.

Agree with everything you said! I LOVE the edit function as I tend to make typos frequently.

AdLib, are you the person that created this site?
If so, whoa, what a magnificent job and I am impressed and bow to you for your computer skills.

Not sure you will even read this, but on one of the articles here, you asked for suggestions on making this site friendlier or easier to use.

I’m not sure if this is even possible, but if a little refresh thing could come up like they have on HP, you know, that little box pops up and says new comment added and click here to refresh, that that would make it run smoother.
We could keep a running dialog going if it was instant gratification!
It would be easier to communicate if we didn’t have to keep checking our email for replies or refreshing the home page.
Do you understand what I mean?
Would that be a horribly hard thing to do?
Great site, and really, you are skilled.

    No thank you. Welcome!

  5. Kalima says:

Hi Javaz, welcome aboard. Hope that you will enjoy your freedom to post on any subject here. Looking forward to your next post.

  6. VegasBabe says:

Well welcome aboard javaz. It’s very cooooool here and I hope you begin to like and appreciate it here as much as I. Sometimes I am so drawn into the reading of the posts that I forget to respond and I learn a great deal too.

  7. javaz says:

I just registered today but have been reading the site for a few days and I see very real possibilities for POV.
I look forward to posting articles on issues that concern me and hopefully others, and already love the freedom of posting here without worries of being scrubbed or going into pending!
Welcome and look forward to reading more things by you!

    • KQuark says:

I’ve read too many opinion columns that are full of shite on other blogs written by the group thinkers. On the other hand I have seen so many bloggers who are talented and have have great opinions who are stuck just responding to these lame articles under heavy moderation and with strict limitations. This site is for posters who fully want to express themselves and don’t want to have some kind of ruling cliche of elites that are the only people eligible to post full articles. Here everyone is free to express their views in detail.

      • javaz says:

Well, the moderators here might be sorry that I joined because I love to blog and this is the first site that, like you say, we have the freedom to fully express ourselves without the elites interfering.
Some of my beliefs might be controversial because I am not progressive on all things.
But it will be nice to read the opposing viewpoints and learn!
And who knows, maybe we can change a mind or two, or at least gain an understanding.

        • escribacat says:

          Sounds intriguing!

          • javaz says:

I wouldn’t say intriguing, but I look forward to posting an article or an opinion to an article that might not be quite the “liberal” way of thinking.
I’ve tried to do that on other blogs, but more times than not I was attacked and viciously attacked personally. The worst is when bloggers attack in groups.
I’ve learned on HP how to play the game, but it sure will be nice to write a differing point of view without having to put up with childishness.
And I am an open minded person, and I can be swayed to change my mind as long as a person respects my opinion and doesn’t call me names.
