Stupid is as Stupid Polls

Pretty much sums it all up.

The Deficit of Truth About Obama’s Budget

That is where I was headed. They all have us chasing this ‘dream’ of owning the biggest TV, the newest phone, the latest version of, well, whatever.

Meanwhile, our most basic needs aren’t being met for the most part, and we happily ignore those for the sake of having all of those above items that don’t give a person a quality of life.

Oh and props for an excellent article, AdLib!

It’s like a drug I say; the dramatics of all the politics since Obama came into office that is. I can’t recall a time when more people were more interested and more involved, which is good and bad. It was like waking up from a nightmare that continued on into reality (The transition of Bush to Obama).

I mean, so many people are just so in the dark about how everything works… its pretty depressing actually. There is no excuse for it! Here is the whole world of information, right at their fingertips, and still people refuse to inform and educate themselves about the inner workings of this world we live in.

I’ve never really identified with any one party, because I am more of a Carlinist, George that is. We are the blind, hungry masses willing to be fed any bullshit that sounds slightly appealing all for the sake of entertainment value. You can’t even watch the news anymore, no, instead it gets SOLD to you.

If I had a dime for every time I’ve tried to get people to watch this and realize it isn’t just a comedian talking, but a man telling you the truth, I’d be in ‘The Big Club.’

“Long is the way, and hard, that out of hell leads up to light” – Milton

I can’t decide if that term best applies to our past, present, or future situation as a species.

If you hop on the ‘We grew from cyanobacteria’ train of thought, or basically grew from sludge, then I would say it applies best to the past, because in seeking the light of the sun, we grew.

If you subscribe to the idea that a sky person made everything, then the above theory still technically applies, and ‘Sky Person’ did create the sun as well for our nourishment and growth from nothingness, or darkness.

In our current situation at present, man finds himself trying to utilize the sun or ‘light’ to further himself once more via solar panels and whatnot; which is almost a twisted karmic fate of chasing ones own tail, in that the sun has long existed and been used to various things, but its still the best source of new untapped energy we can think of.

For the sake of future purposes, we seek out another solar system with the capability to be hospitable to our species, which requires a sun. Both so we can find others who may exist, and so we can eventually kill them and take over their planet, such is the nature of the beast.

Long story short – In any case, we are the hell we are always trying to free ourselves from. That in and of itself makes the idea of escaping hell seem futile, because it lives in us. Maybe, just maybe, the light is afraid of us?

An HP Moderator Replies

The Egyptians didn’t have golden dogs laying around to worship 😉

I’m just sayin’!

“she who shall not be named”

Oi. That was the ONE word I was happy they filtered out lol 🙂

» Posted By kellyk311 On February 15, 2011 @ 4:19 pm

I purposefully chose not to opt out of it, because everyone else was. Didn’t matter to me really. I was the same person the day before we got badges, as I was the day after we got badges.

I’m currently still whoring at HP. Haven’t decided if I want to delete my account yet.

Funny you should mention the blastocyst guy. I was noticing him just the other day. Mostly good comments though, from what I could tell.

» Posted By kellyk311 On February 15, 2011 @ 10:54 am

I’ve been there myself, both geographically and commentarily lol.

Lots of times my posts lost all their meaning because I had to edit the meaning out of all my words. Now I know how Twain would feel.

You’re my kinda evil doer PW lol 🙂

» Posted By kellyk311 On February 15, 2011 @ 10:39 am

I have watched that exact same thing happen I don’t know how many times.

» Posted By kellyk311 On February 15, 2011 @ 10:37 am

I mean Jesus H.

One time I tried 60 variations of a paragraph I had written about, hell I don’t remember now. Point being, the word giraffe, the last word I would have imagined would set of a trigger, was the filtered word.

And after I finally got it through, some eunuch deleted it.

Welcome! You’ve got Fail!

I too have been online since it was a baby. Last night the fiancee and I were discussing the time when google didn’t advertise and you could find the article or item you were looking for right off the bat without sorting through all of the things people wanted to sell (omg an edit option? I’m in love) you. Thems were the days!

About 10 years ago, I was welcomed onto the Sysop team at the old msn gaming zone (zone.com) which has since gone away. I worked in the gaming and technical chat rooms helping people with issues from platform launch to getting spammers out of game lobbies. We had a command back then simply called ‘getip’ that allowed you to click on a persons name and, well, get their ip. traceroute came in handy at that point. We could soft or hard ban/boot folks and whatnot. Mostly would use it for diagnostics on what was preventing people from launching their game.

In other words, this is all a game I have played before with 12 year olds who had nothing better to do then wreak havoc in chat areas and try to tear down websites with their profound asshattery. All that has happened since then, well, the 12 year olds just got older and more political.

The filters and Mod2’s have run amok and ruined my once favorite place to go. You can’t even say the word giraffe for crying out loud. I know I mention that a lot, but I mean, its the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen in my life.

I happen to play host to one of the most sexually explicit and sarcastic minds known to man and I can’t say I see a really good way to use that word to offend anyone but the mighty, tall giraffe himself – Whom I highly doubt reads HP.

I have that stupid mod2 badge because I flagged the shit out of some guy spamming the N word over and over, and then subsequently from others posting links to vicious sites that would most likely infect peoples computers. Couldn’t care less if people cuss, fuck sakes I have a potty mouth myself. Trolls? Couldn’t care less unless they literally threatened someones well being. Difference of opinion? Hey, thats why I go to HP (Pardon me, went*) was to see differing view points.

The whole place and its rules have changed for the worse. Even my comments get deleted for no apparent reason what so ever – If I can get the damned things through the filter in the first place that is.

I am 100% positive that a troll or 10 have figured out how easily their mod2 badge can be attained. 2 Accounts logged on at the same time, one posting ridiculous stuff they know will be deleted and the other to flag them. Hey, presto, mod2 badge. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist-troll to figure that out.

Sorry to interrupt the discussions taking place here, just a bit excited I found you guys – And I knew you would all be around the ‘headline’ish area 🙂

I’ll leave.
