The Singing Salmon From Wasilla

OMG, Cher, I love this post!

I haven’t read anything so funny, clever and witty in a very long time!

Bravo!

We in Arizona had a two-fer yesterday with Salmon Sarah down in Tucson and Joe the Plumber up in Phoenix.
Talk about stinky and fishy!

Sympathy for the devil

E’cat, thank you for sharing this story and I commend you for your selflessness in assisting others along with helping greyhounds.

You may think that you judged this woman and her boyfriend, but the fact that you volunteer to help people and animals says differently about your innate compassion.

Any Lawyers Looking for Extra Credit?

Not a member of facebook, but it does sound as though she should be reported for abuse of their TOS.

I doubt facebook will take heed though and treat her as they do normal members, because she is Sarah Palin after all, and they must make a lot of money off of her.

Job Application for Republicans

Well said, CL.

The Republicans, imho, seem to have gone off the rails and they are playing strictly to their base, and that’s a problem for them.

I know several Republican voters, and even they are disgusted, but they will continue to vote Republican because they’ve been Republicans all of their lives, as were their parents, and maybe grandparents.

It’s the Independents that the Republicans are losing and to be fair, there probably are a good number of Republicans that they are losing, too.

I know it angers me that these elected officials are refusing to work and disrupting the process, and I didn’t even vote for them, but it just seems wrong that they can continue to collect a paycheck and all the benefits for doing nothing.

Shut Up and Listen

Another good post, Marion, and I agree with you for the most part.

Aside from that, I have to say that this is the first photo that I’ve ever seen of Coulter not wearing black.

I thought her entire wardrobe consisted of black!

What health care reform reforms: Provisions and timeline

Excellent compilation, Nellie.

I noticed the day after passage of the bill that local news actually highlighted the benefits in a positive note, but that didn’t last long.

The local news is back to highlighting the Republican view and the fight the Republicans are pledging to fight reform and repeal it.

Our Democratic AG in Arizona has refused to file a suit against HCR, so now the Republican governor is threatening to file for the state.

Terry Goddard is our AG and he is running for governor, but in the meantime he has asked the current governor to restore Child Care funding in the state as not to lose billions of federal dollars that fund the program.

Brewer has refused and is denying thousands of poor children health care, and instead tells parents to take their children ERs for treatment.

No mention is ever made of children who need long term care.

Vox Populi – AfterChat – 3-19-2010

Okay, so here’s another thing, and this is huge for me, but it’s admitting that I f’ed up badly.

I wanted out so badly from my very religious home that once I hit 18, and I started work at 15 to save for that moment, and my way out was moving in with a former navy seal from the Vietnam era. He hit me one time, and I was gone, so good for me.

I still struggle with low self=esteem, but not as much anymore.

My second relationship was even worse, and there was no physical violence.

That one was all about mind control, and it starts slowly, and when you have low self esteem, it makes a person easy prey.

My husband saved my life, and I so mean that.

He helped me escape and trust me, it wasn’t an easy thing to do.

Abusive men can seem so good to their neighbors and coworkers.

Why, I bet you that the nicest man you know at work, you’d never suspect him of abusing his wife.

Waves to Kalima and AdLib!
If you’re all still here.

» Posted By javaz On March 19, 2010 @ 10:51 pm

Okay, I don’t care if anyone else is here – but a major problem that really can affect our country is the violence in Mexico.

We are going to have to arm our borders.

And God help us, but they are really doing that highway. That goes from Mexico and clearance until Oklahoma before they check.

I’m not worried about people that want to come here to work, but I am very worried about the Mexican Cartels also known as the Mexican Mafia.

I was just too much for my husband, and he’s gone to bed, and that leaves me with one more beer.
Is anyone else here?

» Posted By javaz On March 19, 2010 @ 10:39 pm

It’s not often that my husband is on my wave length, but he’s into it now.

I’ll pick this up tomorrow or whenever, but I need to be with my husband.

Great discussion tonight and we touched on so many important topics.

Thank you!

All You Need is Love Songs

Hey TRP!

Good to see you and that song is a good one!

» Posted By javaz On March 19, 2010 @ 6:56 pm

Who doesn’t love the Queen of Soul?

» Posted By javaz On March 19, 2010 @ 6:38 pm

Patsy, is that from the movie ‘Somewhere in Time’ with Jane Seymor and Christopher Reeves?

My gosh, that has to be one of the all time tear-jerker romantic movies.

B’ito should recognize where that movie was filmed – Mackinac Island.

That is one gorgeous place that you have to take a boat over and no cars are allowed on the island.

It’s heaven.

I’ve never heard of her, but I’m sure that I’ve heard her music.

One day, we are going to have wireless Net!

I installed the new Firefox and keep locking up and that’s a major pain.

» Posted By javaz On March 19, 2010 @ 6:02 pm

Roberta is always wonderful and as for Donny, oh yes, he is missed.

» Posted By javaz On March 19, 2010 @ 6:00 pm

Laura Nyro!

B’ito!

One of my favorites!!!!

Hey Boomer!

I hope you are feeling better and are having a glass or two or three or ten of Merlot!

I love Andre Bocelli, especially that song he does with Celine Dion.

I also have to try to find a different word for ‘love’ as I am just lovin’ everything and after awhile it gets a little old – adore is the only other word that I can think of though.

» Posted By javaz On March 19, 2010 @ 5:57 pm

Rosemary Clooney is another of my all time favorites and her nephew is one fine piece of eye candy!

» Posted By javaz On March 19, 2010 @ 5:32 pm

I really wish that I could play youtubes.

You have such eclectic taste and I rarely ever know anything you post!

Some day soon, hopefully by summer, we’ll have wireless net!

» Posted By javaz On March 19, 2010 @ 5:28 pm

I agree x 1000 times!

» Posted By javaz On March 19, 2010 @ 5:26 pm

Oh, I absolutely love Motown and My Girl is my favorite.

» Posted By javaz On March 19, 2010 @ 5:25 pm

Sting is one my favorites, and have I mentioned that my husband resembles him?

Oh yes, he does, but my husband is even HOTTER!

» Posted By javaz On March 19, 2010 @ 5:23 pm

This is my love song for the Republicans –

(have no idea what the lyrics are or how the song sounds, but I did like the graphics!)

» Posted By javaz On March 19, 2010 @ 5:21 pm

You need a glass of Merlot, boomer!

Hope to see you later!

» Posted By javaz On March 19, 2010 @ 5:07 pm

Oh gosh, I must have listened to this song a bazillion times and I still love it!

» Posted By javaz On March 19, 2010 @ 5:05 pm

I miss Marvin, too.

I dusted today, so that will be one less thing for tomorrow.

My husband vacuums for me and I really appreciate that and know that I’m lucky.

Hope to see you later, Kalima, and don’t work too hard!
