I’m starting to lean to the “Inconvenient Truth” because I’ve seen it firsthand in the Rockies and in Glacier National Park. My problem with it all is that yes, okay, we as humans are not helping, plus it is also a natural thing, but what can we do to stop it? Nothing. Oh sure, we could pass legislation, but is China and India going to sign on? No, in reality, NO, they will not. I remember watching a PBS show about the effects of planes being grounded worldwide after 9-11 and it did cool the earth one degree. But are we going to stop planes from flying? Or mining? Or drilling for oil? The answer, realistically, is NO. I do accept that global warming is happening, but the thing is, what realistically can we do about it? Unless the whole world acts, nothing is going to stop it and then that’s where we have to believe in science. Somewhere there must be scientists working on this and that’s where I’m placing my faith. Secondly – in his ads for 2012, he is attacking all of those who are against SB1070 and his infamous roundups, including a former attorney general of the state that is a Republican – Rick Romley – who is now running for Attorney General of Maricopa County – and Romley has never been a friend to Sheriff Joe. The Tea Party is supposed to stand for Taxed Enough Already – yet Brewer has increased our sales tax, and snuck in an increase in our property tax while giving 2 massive tax cuts to corporate property tax and state tax. The hate in this state runs high. Dan Quayle’s son is running and Dan – Mr. PotatoE – lives in Paradise Valley and his son is running and his campaign ad declares Obama the worst president in history. There is nothing more than that other than him saying that he is an Arizona native and he was raised RIGHT. There is a bit of fun between McCain and Hayworth, but even though Arizona Republicans still hate McCain for being too liberal and mavericky, they prefer him over Hayworth. We have the most liberal gun laws in the country and to be fair, so does ‘liberal’ Vermont. We have Sheriff Joe that arrests Mexicans, legal or not, and the female inmates that are pregnant and who choose to carry their babies to term and deliver – they are chained to the bed during delivery against the doctor’s advise and a male guard stands guard while the woman gives birth. And women in Sheriff Joe’s jails who want an abortion, well, Sheriff Joe withholds taking them to an abortion clinic until they are beyond the 1st trimester and well into their 2nd, so the abortion is more painful, and of course, he has male guards watching the chained prisoner in writhing pain. She raised our property taxes, and did a ballot initiative for an additional penny sales tax, which brought us in AJ up to ten cents per dollar. She was despised, until SB1070, and now she is the most popular governor (and she’s not elected yet) not only in the state, but in the country. She will win the election for governor on SB1070 alone. Two of her close consultants are lobbyists for Corporate owned prisons – read TPM for that bit – so, SB1070 is not only a racist bill, but it has the potential to make private prisons very rich. I just logged in and saw you asking about me, and I thank you so very much for that! I’ve missed you all so very much, too. We took off for the White Mountains and Show Low the day after Labor Day, and we’ve not had access to the Internet and the only TV station we could get was FOX, and let me just say, that we both are much more stupid and ignorant and hatin’ on everything and everybody! I went through Internet withdrawal, and it has it’s good moments and bad moments, but mainly good, except for being forced to watch FOX from Phoenix, and all their stupid shows, except for the NFL Sunday. We had to get out of the heat, and our electric company is STILL up here working on the lines and that’s unbelievable. I guess when they said it would take 6 to 8 weeks they meant it, and we got so tired of losing our power in 110+ heat that we took off, yet they are still here, and then we find out that it hit 111 last Sunday, and that is record-breaking for this time of year! The good news is, is that while we were gone, they paved our road! Well, they didn’t do the entire road, as we are rural and you would not believe how people fight and call the sheriff and hire lawyers over inches of land. It’s the Hatfields and the McCoys, and I kid you not, all over 2 to 4 inches of land. But the county did pave our road to the edge of our property line and even a bit beyond, but since our neighbors right below us, who are former NYC cops and currently deputies of Maricopa County, and they own 2 and 1/2 acres of land, and they cause so many problems for us all and it’s a long story. But they have been against paving our road and are always involving the courts and the Pinal County sheriff, and it’s all so stupid and silly, yet we are grateful that they like us because we do not care if they infringe onto our property, and like I said, it’s all so complicated and so stupid-silly. My gosh, it is good to be back home, except it’s sad that SRP is still not finished with doing whatever it is they are doing, but at least our road is paved in front of our house and the temps are supposed to be going below 100 degrees. We are so happy to be back so that we can watch corporate news other than FOX, as FOX really can make a person stupid and that’s not even cable, but broadcast TV and NOT HDTV. Except for NFL Sunday, we couldn’t bare to watch FOX much, so we resorted to buying newspapers and that was fun, even if newspapers in AZ are right-wing, they still did have opposing viewpoints. And as for the radio stations up in Show Low – they are all Clear Channel – which is FOX, so we are just trying to regain our gray brain matter and trying to stop hatin’ on everything and everybody! LOL Needless to say, we enjoyed the pines and the lake, and when we wanted music, we listened to CDs and when we wanted to watch something, we watched DVDs. My husband caught 3 fish, which he released, and we spent lots of time outdoors enjoying nature until the mosquitoes made it impossible. I had 67 emails in my inbox, and most of those were jokes from friends, some right-wing crap from right-wing friends, and spam for penis enlargement and Viagra. These were 2 men that had driver’s licenses, but it wasn’t enough to save their dignity.
