Displaying 31 To 60 Of 259 Comments Last night on the Other Site, some info came through the forums that she was likely using an in-podium teleprompter (see my comment a few below here). Several of us emailed rachel@msnbc.com with this tip and suggested she follow up on it. If anyone here feels so inclined, go ahead and send your email, too. » Posted By jan4insight On February 8, 2010 @ 9:20 am Here’s another gem from that Other Site (sometimes it’s worth going there): 85Percent I’m a Fan of 85Percent 12 fans permalink » Posted By jan4insight On February 7, 2010 @ 11:36 pm Well said, Marion. The Baggers convention is, what, 600 people and a quitter for a guest speaker – and the msm is all over it like flies on shit (pardon my French), But how many have us have marched with thousands or even hundreds of thousands of others, for peace, for equality, for social and economic justice, for years and years, and what does the msm say about these protests? {crickets} » Posted By jan4insight On February 7, 2010 @ 12:55 am I feel like I got to the party just as everyone was leaving. Except I don’t have or know how to use photoshop ,,, but anyone who does, be my guest π » Posted By jan4insight On February 6, 2010 @ 9:22 pm Rashomon 8: Ten Views of Health Care Reform Two comments supporting my post, two saying the Dems are spineless… you know, the usual π » Posted By jan4insight On February 6, 2010 @ 10:52 am Thank you for the list, escribacat. π I hope you don’t mind – I copied & posted it at that Other Site, and it actually survived the mods! » Posted By jan4insight On February 6, 2010 @ 9:43 am Un(der)reported News, Sunday Edition Kudos, nellie! It’s great being able to tune in and find something positive for a change – and get the facts we can use to disarm the nay-sayers. I know it takes a lot of effort on your part to dig for these gems and write them up. Good job! π Now, how can we get this to go viral π » Posted By jan4insight On January 31, 2010 @ 11:54 am All true, BDM, and our democracy is all the poorer for it! » Posted By jan4insight On January 28, 2010 @ 1:24 pm I agree that Murdoch is a major source of all that’s wrong with our msm. » Posted By jan4insight On January 28, 2010 @ 12:52 pm Someone today on HP asked where all the trolls came from, and I replied that it’s their natural habitat π » Posted By jan4insight On January 28, 2010 @ 12:51 pm Oh, it was definitely a jab – I was using a colloquialism to make the point, which didn’t come through in type. May be because I also had a typo in there! » Posted By jan4insight On January 28, 2010 @ 10:22 am As he said last night, he doesn’t QUIT – and I believe him. (And was that a jab at Palin or not, way to go Mr. President π ) » Posted By jan4insight On January 28, 2010 @ 10:06 am State of the Union Address – Live Blog A Democratic strategist quite pleased with the chilly Republican reception emailed the Huffington Post the following: “Footage of every Republican sitting when Obama talked about bank tax is going straight into every 2010 ad.” Sometimes you do pick up a gem from that other site π » Posted By jan4insight On January 27, 2010 @ 7:54 pm Boy, does that sound sssooooooo last century! » Posted By jan4insight On January 27, 2010 @ 7:46 pm We’re glad you took care of yourself, Kalima π In truth, I didn’t even watch the Repug. My stomach isn’t that strong. And I’m sure he provided built-material for The Daily Show! » Posted By jan4insight On January 27, 2010 @ 7:44 pm I loved it when the Repub’s sat on their fannies and pouted when the Pres was opening with all the TAX CUTS we’ve done this year for the middle class! Ha ha – if we didn’t know already, for Repub’s TAX CUTS are only good when Daddy Warbucks gets his share π » Posted By jan4insight On January 27, 2010 @ 7:35 pm Thank you, Mr. President – that was awesome! Once again, I’m fired up and ready to go! » Posted By jan4insight On January 27, 2010 @ 7:33 pm Rashomon 6: Ten views of Obama’s budget freeze The econ guy was Jared Bernstein. I read one of his books and was greatly impressed by it; I’m glad to see he’s on the econ team in the WH. That said, I find it really sad that the WH has lost control of the message already withthe word “freeze”. (Even Rachel didn’t seem to get it, and she’s usually pretty sharp.) It’s seems like a good but complex move, and that doesn’t translate well into sound bites. » Posted By jan4insight On January 25, 2010 @ 10:33 pm After Keith & Rachel’s segments on this topic tonight, I realized that a) calling it a “freeze” seems like a real distortion, typical of the msm π but b) the WH certainly seems like they’re trying to sharpen their message with a blunt pocketknife. Where is George Lakoff when we need him? » Posted By jan4insight On January 25, 2010 @ 9:57 pm The New Spokesperson for the Middle Class? Pu-LEEZE! Sometimes it pays to surf that other site – I just found this little gem in a comment over there: biglimes I’m a Fan of biglimes 281 fans permalink OT You know AH and Breitbart go back? He used to research for this site. I didn’t find that out until I looked at his wikipedia page. » Posted By jan4insight On January 27, 2010 @ 5:34 pm True, there’s no comparison on the volume because we’re just not nearly as big a site. But what I’m saying is, let’s walk our talk and keep OUR discussions out of the gutter. I have to say – when I read some of the early posts on this thread, I felt like I needed to take a shower! » Posted By jan4insight On January 26, 2010 @ 3:02 pm Spot on! π » Posted By jan4insight On January 26, 2010 @ 2:35 pm nellie, I respect your opinion but I’m not sure how it relates to my concern. If we try to define ourselves solely as the anti-HP, we’ll just back ourselves into a corner. And it’s not just HP: I checked in today with Open Left, The Nation, DemocracyNow! and they’ll all slamming the Dems & Obama mercilessly. I know there’s a nasty Saturn transit going on, but if things don’t improve I may have to restrict myself to The Daily Show & Colbert Report for news! But all that is beside the point of my post: It’s the virulent tone of the comments here that are turning my stomach. If we criticize, we should offer an alternative – and descending to troll-type bile (though I admit it’s fun) isn’t the way the go. But I guess that’s just my opinion. » Posted By jan4insight On January 26, 2010 @ 12:29 pm LABC, it’s the whole tone of this thread – and it has turned ME off. Appreciate your apology. » Posted By jan4insight On January 26, 2010 @ 11:00 am Can you guys handle a dose of cold water? Because, really, the comments here are as bad as the things the trolls post on That Other Site! I’m in NO way defending AH! (In fact the post about her effect on the Governator’s effect was quite illuminating.) And I’m just as concerned as the rest of you about the effects AH & HP have on fracturing the left, which is the last thing we need. But if I were coming here for the first time and saw this thread, I’d be so turned off I’d beat a hasty retreat and then scrub my browsing history for good measure! I’m sure we all need to blow off steam from time to time, but now that we’ve had a good rant, can we figure out a way to combat the great Divisive One without stooping to her (& her trolls’) level? Because you do catch more flies with honey, than with vinegar. Just sayin’ » Posted By jan4insight On January 26, 2010 @ 10:27 am Oh thanks! I wasn’t sure how to find the clip on YouTube π » Posted By jan4insight On January 25, 2010 @ 5:53 pm Someone should tell him to be careful what he wishes for! » Posted By jan4insight On January 25, 2010 @ 5:52 pmComments Posted By jan4insight
Let’s see if I can get this posted if I am more general in mentioning company names this time. I checked the website of the hotel and one of their business partners. There is a very sophisticated system in place for loading and reading speeches from a monitor in the lectern. Someone needs to tell Palin and her supporters that counts as a teleprompter.

FWIW. Btw, Breitbart is connected with O’Keefe, the Repug pimp who just got nailed for breaking into Sen. Landrieu’s office π
