They are sitting in the comfort of their homes “blogging and commenting” and reading other blogs and comments. Teabaggers do this chit. Progressives BLOG!! » Posted By bito On November 15, 2009 @ 2:18 pm Today on Fareed Zakaria’s (sp) show said that the majority of the international answers to his question on Prez. Obama, were concerened with “when will he shut down Gitmo.” This still seems to be a major “black eye” and concern in the thoughts and minds of the rest of world. » Posted By bito On November 15, 2009 @ 1:35 pm Right now I am watching NASA TV. » Posted By bito On November 16, 2009 @ 9:04 am Debate Night Live – Vote and Discuss! This is a really good story on Sen Casy about the “Stupak add” he released a statement to saying in part: Senator Casey has been a vocal supporter of health care reform and voted for the HELP Committee bill in July. He supports the public option to increase competition and reduce costs. And he is offering amendments to improve health care for children. Senator Casey thinks that health care reform should not be used to change longstanding policies regarding federal financing of abortion which has been in place since 1976. I used to have this same argument with non/anti union workers when they came up with “you guys just cause inflation”. I would ask them “what do you think we do with our wages? we buy homes,(jobs) we buy cars (jobs), we buy furniture (jobs), we buy, we buy, we buy. We don’t horde our our monies like some banker. We spread our little bit of ‘wealth.’ We create jobs, we hire you.” » Posted By bito On November 13, 2009 @ 2:11 pm javaz, first of all, I neglected to say hello! » Posted By bito On November 13, 2009 @ 1:47 pm Mr. Monk, Sir, I have gone to the Recovey. gov site » Posted By bito On November 13, 2009 @ 1:28 pm I have at times payed taxes in 3 jurisdictions in 1 year. For me the future has arrived (way too early) and YOU, by paying taxes, are allowing to give me a life with some dignity. » Posted By bito On November 13, 2009 @ 1:04 pm Very few of the overrides passed in the Pima/Tucson area.Things are bad but so many seem to be content on making things worse. Potato salad (and casseroles 😉 ) were always present at any gathering. And, of course, my Mother’s potato salad was always the best. I watched and helped her make it hundreds of times. I have never replicated that flavor. When she cooked she rarely used recipes. So, whose Mother makes the best potato salad? Whose Mother was/is the best cook. » Posted By bito On November 13, 2009 @ 11:30 am Due to her tape, that was played in court. Did anyone declare war with Palestine after the ’64 Olympics?
Or the fist bombing of of the World Trade center?
The Japanese group and their poison gas attacks?
No!
They were treated as criminals. This is just so much war and fear mongering. When Pres. Clinton treated them as criminals, it was later said that he was “coddling”. War is last resort, not FIRST reply!
Maybe this is just plain ‘old school’ in this age…. But… Are you or have you gone to your local or county Demo meeting this month? Are you a precinct person? Do you write letters to your congress people? Do you call and visit your Senators/ Reps local office (and do you take a small group)? Do you walk a neighborhood for a progressive cause? Do you do the dreaded “phone banking”?

Pretty interesting. Takes me back to grade school and Alan Shepard.
Hold your nose and get your foot in the door. Universal health care, as proposed in 1912, is a bit too long to not have gotten this close and let die.

On the left hand side you will see a link to religion. It won’t hyper link for me. Good article on the R.C. Bishops on their lobbying in congress. Esp.The Stupak Ammend.
the site is called “religious dispatches.org”
javaz might like to take a look.
Oh, I could go on what a middle class used to be. Now we seem to a country of “the working poor.”
The system of taxation in this state is very regressive and repressive on the average person. Brewer and the goopers in the legislature seem to be living in the 30’s (before FDR). “let the big dogs hunt and everything will be fine.” If I hear our rep.(Cap’n Mel) bring up Ray-guns one more time….

Quite often. I have used this site to ask many local officials whether thy have applied for a grant, or what they have status is of the money they have received. Just trying to let them know that “we are watching.” Many years ago, a major activist said to me ” if every one wants to be a good citizen, they need to spend 1 1/2 hours a week talking to local officials a week.”
tickled pink, I am
Haven’t been so happy in so many long years…..
Switching to beer? What an awake drunk? 😀
rights! Before “Roe” the rich paid for their sterile, hospital abortions and most women went to back alleys/rooms and took a chance on death, leaving their other children orphans. That is what many of the “righteous” want to return to.
I am an “old, white, male, fart. and this pisses me off!!
