Yeah, well…I thought I had friends across the Planet….over at that other venue, too. I, too, consider online friends no different than offline friends…other than I can rant in my tightie-whities and not cause pandemonium. (occasionally)
You are my friend. I consider any person a friend until I give them the opportunity to screw me over in some fashion. (happens more than I care to admit)
I care a bit too much sometimes and, yes, share more than I should, but..hell…isn’t that what’s missing from all of this online chatting and visiting…real emotions? I mean, I sometimes think all of us are slowly fading away from real emotions anymore online.
Now that we’re friends, ….can I borrow your car? ~smile~
Please bend my ear anytime…although,…I will do the same….LOL~

I have to say that this was my very 1st Friday Night Music fest here and listen, I thought it was awesome! I want the 1st DJ chair ! (I actually WAS a DJ in the 80s for a rock station in Florida!) Loved this! I will return again and again.

Embrace Change

Nicely done piece! Boy do I ever appreciate a well thought through effort to create, deliver and execute an opinion.
In response to the post I have to say that Americans have become so assaulted with 110mph idiocy (last administration) that traveling at a comfortable, reliable, predictable 56mph (Obama) is somehow obscene. I have said from the beginning that this president is calculating, highly educated and rarely lets others pull one over on him. He is not a messiah, savior, King, or the answer to saving the world. (as most on the Right seem to yoke him with) He’s simply a good president. Yet, most Americans, suffering from PTSD and Stockholm’s Syndrome from the last administration, have forgotten to trust education and science. Anyone with a higher level of education than a 5th grader…they can’t trust. That’s why Sarah Palin is so popular. She reminds people that even though you quit everything you set out to do, stumble over simple life obstacles and talk like a …well…I don’t even have a descriptor for what language she speaks…but it enthralls the WalMart crowds. (no offense I am forced to shop there too…yet I hope you get my point)
The Nobel Prize just infuriates the Right wing throngs because they see it as an elitist award.
I’ll say this finally:
When you are elected POTUS and the traffic STOPS in Times Square, Paris Metro area STOPS, London’s circus comes to a stand still and crowds across the GLOBE erupt in applause and cheering and happiness,…heck…you should get SOME kind of prize,…right? ~wink~

The straight poop about Canadian health care

It was on PBS. Must be the same show. The older I get I watch these Republicans simply act like 7 year olds not getting their way and I wonder…is it ME? Have I changed SO much that I expect the grown ups in American leadership to act with a little more professionalism than the local Payday loan shop?

And it’s funny you say that the House thinks Dems want to kill capitalism…when it was the Republicans that MANIPULATED Capitalism to kill…America.

I remember watching a documentary about medical insurers and insurance companies across the globe. The film went and interviewed doctors, nurses and administration officials in several countries regarding their respective approaches to Universal healthcare and I have to admit I was dumbstruck. The integrity of these people to provide not just adequate care for the people, but what appeared to be genuine compassion and need to actually do their jobs well. I was ashamed of this country’s healthcare choices. Still am.

The waiting times issue is a straw-dog and the GOP knows it. They also know Obama was born in the US. They just know they can disregard THEIR personal ethics and lie to and frighten their voters. When you have no chance of winning, cheat. That’s the new Republican mantra. But I digress.

I believe that we (those of us living today) will never see true Universal healthcare in this country. It’s simply a matter of logistics and the power of the insurance lobbyists. I wish there was a better message, yet when greed, corruption, bribery, politics and hubris all get together in an orgy of excess…you wind up with one fugly baby….

Well, …what else can be said? Everyone here has experienced the new tyranny exploding on the other side of the Planet. (nice, huh?) I have had at least 4 socks banned over there and countless and I mean countless posts scrubbed for whatever reasons they think of at the moment. You could even begin to see the ‘shift change’ over there with the mods. Some would let you post like the old days, where others just enjoyed scrubbing and banning. You would literally have to WAIT until that mod left for the day to get any moderately interesting posts posted! Weird and sad considering what that site used to be. I have closed my accounts there but have decided to put on some new socks to promote the PlanetPOV here, however….I have submitted no less than 3 requests for a new account and still can’t log in. I get the email saying “Welcome” and all of that, ..but when I go to log in it says my user name/password is incorrect or my account hasn’t been approved yet….it’s been days….anyone else having this issue?

A warning about trolls

Yeah, well…peace snipers….It’s just a term I invented for trolls that sit perched in their anonymous trees just waiting to shatter the calm, educated and sometimes very important postings. They shoot down any possibility to continue a constructive dialog by introducing fact-less facts, straw-doggies and just plain thuggery to muddle the process. They have no purpose other than being obstacles. Much like the GOP functions right now. That comment is not a political stab…it is a fact that I can prove. You see, that’s the difference between reason and logic. I will listen to ANY side to ANY story. The facts will be borne out and a decision can be made. Lacking facts or intelligent conjecture, a conversation simply languishes under its own weight of mediocrity and nothing is accomplished. This scenario is precisely what ‘peace snipers’ hope to achieve…because ‘change’ is scary and will probably have a bad impact on most of the ‘sniper’s’ ilk.

Let me just say that everything said here holds a grain of truth. Especially the anonymity of posters to spew whatever diatribe they feel will instigate or infuriate. I am all about heated debate, but with intellect and respect. That how PROGRESS happens. However, so many over at the other site feel that it is their lifelong obligation to piss in everyone’s Wheaties as often as possible because they have no ‘real’ presence on the web. They are peace-snipers. They are well camouflaged at times and it takes awhile to discover their true intentions. I hope they are quickly dealt with here.
I came from HP on an invite and made a personal decision while en-route here. I told myself I would no longer hide behind a creative, point-making avatar and just post my own ugly mug. Me pulling my glasses down to look you right in the eye…to expose myself and let everyone know that I OWN what I say. This isn’t for everyone, yet at least I’ve removed one of the veils of secrecy some need to hide behind. You can count on what I say to be real and only my opinion. Boy I hope the trolls stay away. Haha~

Right. Javez,…now that you bring up the Biden thing…you may be onto AH…LOL~ Something to consider for sure. I sort of just glossed over that remark AH made because I knew already that HP was now nothing short of a rabid, tabloid-esque, ad generating prostitution of what it once was (…and I’d been with HP for about 2 years as well, Boomer)
I realize that as I grow older I become much more cynical of worldly intentions and less tolerant of capitalism and politics as it exists today. I think my views are reasonable and just, yet I am realizing that as time passes, my views and opinions seem to fade away into the crush of noise made by tea-baggers, birthers and the radical views of so many that drown out reason.
Maybe I’m just not relevant anymore….meh~….LOL

I will continue to read HP regularly. I will never again post there. I have been banned 3 times and have had enough along with so many others. HP will glean the posts for paid commentary and continue to simply be a link farm.
I knew the site was doomed when paid trolls were allowed to stir the pot to generate posts (ie: ad money) as opposed to remaining a relatively open discussion forum. Then when the banning began and post scrubbing, I knew I was finished with them. Then to top things off, AH has decided to become as radical a Lib personality as Palin is to the Right! Yes, …it’s all money….exposure is money….any press is GOOD press…yes, yes….I know…I know…

I don’t know what world I thought I lived on where the almighty dollar didn’t rule every action…..

It’s time for Liberals and Democrats to join the Teabaggers

I must submit this as well:
Before there were Democrats and Republicans…
Before there were Socialists and Fascists and Communists…
There were people…trying to make there way in life.
The things we ALL rail against are:

Injustice
Poverty
Inequality
Selfishness
Hubris, greed, corruption, etc.
Betrayal
…and the like…

These things have nothing to do with political affiliation or even education…Yet we’ve been taught that. Divide and conquer…still at work today….

Well Nellie, the ‘people’ I refer to are us. We the people….citizens of the Republic. Sadly, you were able to simplify and demonstrate my point perfectly by including descriptive qualifiers such as ‘they’ and ‘they’re’, etc….If a citizen is unable to attend college, decides not to attend college or thinks that there is a national/global conspiracy to create a Socialistic America, doesn’t make them a ‘they’, it simply means these citizens have differing ideas than other citizens. Feelings cannot…ever…be ‘wrong’. No more than Liberal feelings are ‘correct’. Or educated people’s opinions hold more value. I assure you that the very poor in this nations can teach ALL of us a thing or two about survival and hard times. You see, hard times rarely effect the very poor because they are perpetually poor. My point was that until we drop this culture-snobbery…nothing is accomplished. I am not defending ignorance, nor am I elevating degree holders to prophet level. (as I know plenty of college attenders that have a difficult time remembering basic algebra) We are a nation of humans with dreams, aspirations and needs. We are a collective force. We should not be a divided citizenry. We DO have more in common than most of us will ever know.

I think that, at end of the day, most of us realize there is a serious problem growing in our Republic. Most of us feel as though there is nothing one person can do to stem the tide of corruption, hubris and cannibalistic capitalism; not to mention the political chaos. We Libs feel that education somehow insulates us and our opinions from the great unwashed and that is what creates this class-gulf. Many without higher education see US as THEM, typically because it’s the educated peoples that take advantage of and harm, them. I’m not suggesting this is factual where WE are concerned, yet the even HIGHER educated than WE need to create this gulf as a buffer. And they have perfected and perpetuate this strategy. For any of us to start pointing fingers at this president or that president (or Representative) is simply playground behavior of ignorant children. We all know this, but revert to this ideology because it’s easy. Until all of us can agree that the common enemy is the enemy of ALL of us, there will be no real change….only generation after generation fearing and loathing fellow Americans (Dems,Repubs,Indeps, etc, etc) and not the true enemy of the people. The government knows that as long as they keep us all at each other’s throats…we won’t all march for them.
