It seems that in times of crisis we in this country are too complacent when it comes to protecting the things we claim to hold dear. For ex. the suspension of habeus corpus during the Civil War, the internment of Japanese Americans in WWII and now the further erosion of civil liberties since 9/11. However, at least in the case of the first two after the crisis was over things went back to the way they were before. Now because of the paranoia surrounding terrorism they would like to keep these clamps on our rights for good. I too am disappointed that the Obama administration is going along with the Bush policies regarding Homeland Security.
