Change He Can’t Believe In

WTS, Draw Better?
Yes You Can!
That’s for certain!
I like where you are going with your thoughts here,
you have questions for our pres but you are not jumping over to the
-Bash Obama I’m a Progressive and I am not getting my way exactly as I wanted crowd-

Where is the ‘American Spirt’?
Why can’t we rally around our Pres?
He needs our support.
Questions, yes fine, but the bashing?
How many rallied around Bush after 9/11?
Bush had a multitude of warnings on 9/11 and snoozed right thru them.
Obama had countless assurances for the pro oil
(we know what we are doing) crowd that all will be wonderful with drilling so much so that he came out and endorsed the drilling of new wells.
And gosh knows that Americans were not stepping up on the cutting back on usage of the stuff.
What is he supposed to do?

All these tragedies keep leading us to the same conclusion.
The small government direction is the wrong path to travel on.
We can’t let corporations run the show.

I will never underestimate him.
I think he has the right heart it’s just hard to see
through all the garbage being spewed before him.

BTW
I read this Frank Rich article from NYT and
IMHO yours is by far superior !

Excellent art work WTS! Excellent post!
You have put so many of my feelings into words and have many great questions.
“What are we” as a nation?
It appears there is a new ‘reveal’ going on.
I think this goes back to Obama expressing how he would bring in a new level of transparency.
Now we have it, the transparency but not in the ideal way Obama planned.
We are seeing ourselves, our corporations and our media in a new light.
Seeing how corporations are truly being run and why.
Seeing our media and the toxic nature of the on air haters in all their glory and sadly seeing all to plainly the nature of the listeners and watchers being exploited.
Much of what we ‘see’ now in our nation isn’t too pretty.
WTS, The tests are coming at Obama non stop.
I feel he can better pass them if Obama is more Obama.
Nevertheless, I think the issues ARE that big and complicated and difficult.
It reminds me of the scene from the film “Jaws”

scratch and sniff
You could really have a laugh coming up with
alternate names.
I only visit there on occasions
and try to drop the planet name
so far I have been under the radar

“Trust Us” Is Getting Old

Thank You Barbara,
That’s the GOP mantra -Trust Us-
Trust Us to put the Corporations in charge of everything while we look the other way.
The scary part is …. How many other industries have been getting away with lax oversight.
Nuke Plants ?
Small Government leads us straight to Disaster
where we need a massive mega Government to fix things up.
How about just Medium Government that can be flexible sometimes large or sometimes small as needed?

Javez you may be thinking of Coumadin, the blood thinner/rat poison

Warfarin (also known under the brand names Coumadin, Jantoven, Marevan, Lawarin, and Waran) is an anticoagulant. It was initially marketed as a pesticide against rats and mice and is still popular for this purpose, although more potent poisons such as brodifacoum have since been developed. A few years after its introduction, warfarin was found to be effective and relatively safe for preventing thrombosis and embolism (abnormal formation and migration of blood clots) in many disorders. It was approved for use as a medication in the early 1950s and has remained popular ever since; warfarin is the most widely prescribed anticoagulant drug in North America.[1]

Oil’s Well That Ends…Well?

That description fits them to a tea party!

And if you think it’s can’t get worse…..

The oil well explosion in the Gulf of Mexico could be a well-timed and profitable accident for Halliburton, the global oil company with the famous connection to former U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney. Just eight days before the uber-Valdez accident, Houston-based Halliburton acquired Boots & Coots Services, also based in Houston, in a $240 million cash and stock deal.

I physically feel sick about this and I don’t live anywhere near the gulf.
I am not mad at the Righties down there that voted for these policies.
They were deceived.
I just can’t be full of that much retribution when they are facing this disaster.
Although I have enjoyed some told you so moments.
That did not make anything any better.
Humor has helped a bit.
I posted ‘Oil Grey’ and other bits at various sites, it got some laughs.
But that did not make any of this go away.
I want Obama to be Super Obama and make the corporations behave.
Enough of these corporations running amuck.
If he truly pulls away from their gravitational pull he will go down in history as
one of the greatest if not the greatest Presidents.
I can hope, can’t I?
I want to know why bp has not called upon James Bond?
“Top Kill” sounds like a great title for his next film.

Oh Javez,
I taught myself to play guitar on my oldest brothers steel string fender acoustic.
He later had traded it for a catamaran sail boat.
Those steel strings were beastly on my 12 year old fingertips but I stuck to it.
I got gigs and was in various bands.
Total Bohemian life.
I spent hours of time learning every kind of thing from Beatles (of course) to
Burt Bacharach
