The Occupy Wall Street Thread

WRITE him, AdLib! Send a snail mail/fax so someone has to actually get up and get the damn thing.

Emails are too easy to go to junk mail or hit delete. This is tree-worthy. DO it.

PS I recently told a contractor that I was going to rip him a new *ssh*le because he would “sh*t bricks” when I was through with him. When he offered to do all he could to make me happy, I burst out in tears. Where are those meds when you need them?????? All turned out well. I have the work done, and he maintained his original equipment. Don’t piss off a stressed out woman. Lesson to be learned……..

Teapers crush the earth with their girth. I shudder at what happens to flowers! That’s why they are so damn funny. They are – for the most part – old, fat and slow (mentally AND physically).

No chit Cherlock! I don’t think the anger is directed to the secretaries, the file clerks, the mail clerks, the receptionist. At least that’s not why I’M mad.

The voter suppression issue. Having seen what truly corrupt elections in Afghanistan mean to the people, there is nothing even close, IMHO.

Weekend Music Thread – Ladies Night (and Day)

I ESPECIALLY love that little one, Kes! I wanted to make t-shirts when they “boycotted” the Chicks for Natalie’s pop off about George W. (which, BTW, I totally agreed with). Jes sayin’ “Natalie speaks for me”. Pink, with sparkly girly print.

My favorite “chick” – Natalie Maines (“We’re ashamed the President is from Texas”) – who DOES speak for me! Tear it up,little one….

The Republican Cure For Everything…Tax Cuts!

Javaz: is that on 160? Towards Durango/Cortez? Love that part of the country!

» Posted By AlphaBitch On September 22, 2011 @ 1:43 pm

Ta-DUM!

» Posted By AlphaBitch On September 21, 2011 @ 2:53 pm

Hey Javaz: I am a Texan, and I love Pagosa. It is one of my favorite places. I think the attraction to Texans is the river. It’s like something from A River Runs Through It. Texans love to fly fish, and it’s a spectacular location.

While there (at the Springs), I tend to stay away from those with a Texas accent and try to drop my own.

I DID meet a very cute family from Dallas last August. We were all soaking, their two adorable children playing nearby. The kids walked up and the mom got out to dry them off and get them ready to go to dinner. She stopped toweling the little boy, looked at the dad and said “Mike? Did you give Bubba gum?” The dad denied he had done so. The little girl – a few years older – was then queried by an increasing shrill and panicked mama voice as to where Bubba had gotten the gum. The little girl shrugged, and Bubba grinned proudly, pointing to a place on the nearby concrete. We burst out laughing, but I thought the mama was going to hurl. Made me proud – for just a second – to be a Texan in Pagosa.

Have fun, Javaz. Which trailer park are you at???

So…..does this mean the GOP can be eliminated with…..TAX CUTS?????

If so, I’m in!

Weekend Music Thread – Oldies But Goodies

‘Tay. Off to bed to watch ACL and SNL. But this was my very favorite song when I was a little girl. No offense to any sensibilities, but it made great marching and twirling music (yes, KT – a twirler AND a go-go girl!) when I was seven and living in the panhandle of Florida:

Johnny Horton, Sink the Bismarck

Night, Planetarians. I’ll see what other fine musical selections you have posted when I check back tomorrow. – AB

KT: You and me, Babe. I got you, Babe. – AB

» Posted By AlphaBitch On September 17, 2011 @ 7:16 pm

Why, thank you! If I can steal the photos from my sister (who is the keeper of all things go-go for me), I’ll scan and send. One is in a purple satin bell bottoms and crop top, one in white leather mini with blue sleeveless turtleneck (OK, I know that doesn’t match) and the ever present go-go boots (with hidden zippers on the sides so that the view from the back side was equally hip – no exposed back zippers for me, thank you very much)

If we ever have a Planet reunion cruise, and if I’m still able, I’ll show you some of the “moves”. KT, will you dance with me?? – AB

And now my newest loves, the Avett Brothers. I get to see them Oct 16th in Austin at a small concert. Whoooo-hooooo!!! Mumford Who????

» Posted By AlphaBitch On September 17, 2011 @ 5:44 pm

Ha, ha. I laugh at you all. You should know, that in reality, not blogality, I was a 60s go-go girl. I danced for the Animals, the Loving Spoonful, Billy Joe Royal (OK – not all gigs were winners, and Down in the Boondocks was a hard tune to groove to). But my all time wish list was none other than Mr. Stevie Winwood, aged 15 (my age), from Spencer Davis.

Gimme Some Lovin’, Mr. Winwood.

And then Keep on Runnin’

**EDIT** And the Pup is a dead ringer (only hair different) to Stevie Winwood! WOW – I just realized this!!!! Oh – I never got to actually dance with Stevie Winwood. Maybe the Pup can get some musical talent and I can dance to the Pup’s music…..

Pundits Anonymous – The Prediction Addiction

Ah, AdLib – but the Blov wants to know if they are “Spacely Sprockets”, which was (according to him) the brand George Jetson sold. Not just your ordinary sprocket…..

HA! so the trick is to stay away from friend’s wives bearing cookies, is that it AdLib????

» Posted By AlphaBitch On September 18, 2011 @ 12:29 pm

Hey now KT! The Blov (whom my closest friends call Mr. Motel 6, due to his penchant for wanting cheap hotel rooms) was a HUGE fan of Magic Fingers. Now I’m giving away those family secrets….

Good grief, Em! Cialis commercials make me break out laughing. Rriiiggghhhttt – you’ve finally gotten the guy do to some work around the house, he sees you (or now sometimes you see him), and BINGO! it’s a romantic moment.

Fer cryin’ out loud. I’d say: Finish up here, Honey, and I’ll go sit in that lovely bathtub out back, filled with rose petals, and THEN we can talk about getting intimate.

I especially HATED the one where she was on the ladder, painting, and he hands her a brush or something and she finds herself overwhelmed with passion.

Truth in advertising used to matter. Why can’t there also be truth in politics? In fact, truth all around. I’d slap the jack hat who thought I wanted to be romantic when I’m doing laundry. Just doesn’t happen that way, mates. Or maybe it’s just me?? Whatever. Doesn’t happen that way for ME.

“What’s the difference between a political pundit and a TV weatherperson? Their hairstyle.”

That applies only if you exclude the Focks (Fox Chicks). Their hairstyles can best be described as “breezy, without a chance of brains”.

Live Blog: Dumb, Dumber and Dumbest, The GOP Tea Party Debate

Patsy: We’ve only just begun showing Beverly Hillbillies to Alpha Pup, since we tease him endlessly on his insatiable hunger. We nicknamed his tummy “Jethro”, and felt it was time to introduce him to his stomach’s namesake. He comes in now, and will say “Well, I think Jethro’s trying to tell me something; and if I listen, I think I hear him saying he’s hungry.” I LOVE your reference to the “vat sized” breakfast bowl! Guess he was eating Kellogg’s Cornflakes (who I seem to remember was a corporate sponsor of the show)?
