The rise of extremists around the world have led to more and more horrible acts that their extremism lets them self-justify. It doesn’t help to have so-called civilized nations justifying torture and starting wars that kill hundreds of thousands under false pretenses that they have self-justified. I’m not blaming the US for what radical Muslim extremists do but what could help smother extremism would be a global consensus on the values of human life and freedom and the US could have led such movement with real moral authority if that hadn’t had been so damaged by Bush. Along the way, I’ve tried to imagine what such people are actually like in the real world, people who would dedicate themselves to such mindlessness. I can only imagine that most are social misfits and have few friends, are probably low on the economic rung and desperate to feel a sense of power and purpose instead of the insignificance they feel about themselves day after day. The desire to disrupt the healthy discussions of others seems like a natural to come from those who envy the ability to have such discussions. And lastly, their need to believe in delusions, to override their dismal realities, could make them as aggressive as they are to interject their groundless, follow-the-authority-figure’s BS into every conversation between reasonable people that they can. Even so, I think most do so with the intention to spread what they know in some way is phony propaganda and disrupt the substantive arguments of the reasonable. To such people, the end always justifies the means so they can somehow justify being dishonest and spreading lies since they see it as advancing their “team’s” cause. Unprincipled, emotionally disabled, obnoxious and ignorant. Yep, the Repubs can threaten and try to impeach Obama but they will never have the votes in The Senate (2/3 needed) to remove him from office and trying to do so will only whip up support for Obama and destroy support for Repubs controlling Congress. A smart strategic move would be for Obama to do everything he wants to do with Executive Orders and goad them into trying to impeach him.. At least if they’re busy self-destructing, it will keep them from passing bills that would do the same to the nation. As for taking EOs to the SCOTUS, I wouldn’t put anything past the Fecal Five controlling the court but we’d have a Constitutional crisis if they tried to dictate to the President about EOs…I’d support the President in ignoring them if they did since they are not supposed to have any say over another branch of government unless expressly described in The Constitution and EOs aren’t, they are tools connected to carrying out laws which is under the President’s authority.
