Hillary and Bill Clinton are incredibly wealthy people who move in the circles of the same wealthy and powerful who have inordinate control over our democracy and society, they are friends and peers with them...so is it most likely that if elected, she's going to hammer her best friends to help "the others"?
Thinking the unthinkable. As horrible as it is to think of this, the wise are doing just that.
What you see in these RW Republican politicians on most issues is pretty consistent support for allowing the deaths of others to poverty, guns, wars, old age, etc.. Their "pro-life" position on abortion is an anomaly...and that's because to them, this issue isn't really about religious beliefs or compassion, It's about something else far more crass and cynical. It's about power.
Joe Biden voted for most of the things Hillary Clinton voted for when they were both in the Senate, but Clinton was accused of being every negative thing anyone could think of for those votes.
From the party that brought you, "Shutdown at the Oh No Corral" comes a new, charm offensive...though they don't understand the phrase too well ("So we need to be offensive in a charming way?")
Trump expressed that he was very excited about reaching out to women, saying that they have actually been asking for it. "I get it, they've been saying 'no' in the polls but I know women, they really means 'yes'."
"For years we've courted the public on passing anti-abortion laws and they spurned us. We've grown so frustrated that the way we felt on these issues wasn't being returned, we had to do something about it or we'd burst so we just grabbed the best looking bills we could find and thrust our legislation into them."
"I believe in the sanctity of life and in order to protect it, I think we need to be willing to require the deaths of anyone, especially women, who threaten it," Rubio stated.
Hillary Clinton has been justifiably frustrated by polling that shows young women preferring to support Bernie Sanders instead of her. What is questionable though is whether playing the gender card to turn that dynamic around to her favor, is helpful or will backfire.
There were so many fantastic signs in The Women's March made but one that seemed most inspirational and reflective of the empowerment that this movement inspires said, "Thanks President Obama, we've got this!"
