This past Friday, the United States outdid itself. Reactions varied as Justice Kennedy delivered the finishing touches to the end of civilization.
We are at war right now and we just lost a major battle. Those intent on crushing our democracy are energized by their coup over the majority and they're frothing at the mouth to build upon it. This is a time for bold statements and rallying cries, for leadership on what specifically we can do now and what we need to do in November and beyond to win this war. This is the time for action.
Trump's rhetoric is the stuff of Nazi nationalism, demonizing all those who follow a specific religion, just substituting Muslims for Jews. In doing this, he is attempting to sew a swastika onto the American flag.
"By removing the need for doctors to be licensed, we could get all kinds of new and exciting approaches in medicine! Why not let a barista do liposuction? A jackhammer operator give a colonoscopy? Or a clown be a brain surgeon?"
The irony is that such people use the fruits of science daily, such as televisions, cell phones and the internet to wage their war against that evil practice of science.
Trump presented a longer list of "bad guys" which oddly included "Jesus". When asked about this, Trump noted, "All these people think Jesus is a good guy, well he's not, trust me. He creates zombies by bringing dead guys back to life, how evil is that?"
