After all the doom and gloom of the last few weeks, and the last minute avoidance of default, I think it’s time for a little happiness to shine through. I’m happy just to see all the self inflicted gunshot wounds to so many Tea Party feet. They have good health insurance anyway, but as far as political health insurance, they may wind up lacking in the next midterms. Maybe they should give that whole gun control concept another look see.

Post your favorite songs that make you happy, songs of celebration, songs of joy or songs of just plain silliness. Don’t forget to smile while doing so.

Happiness Runs – Donovan

TRAFFIC Dear Mr.Fantasy

The Beatles – “I’m Happy Just To Dance With You”

Blood, Sweat & Tears – You’ve Made Me So Very Happy

    For sillyness, my faves are lyrics by card maker Sandra Boynton:

  2. Three Dog Night-Joy To The World-Jeremiah Was A Bullfrog

  3. Jeff Beck, Gary U.S. Bonds -- New Orleans

  4. Nice video of Chico doing Everybody Say I Love you, Ad. The musical bits that Chico and Harpo did in their films was a big part of what made their films so good, IMO.

    This is one of Groucho’s contributions that is a classic;

    Lydia the Tattooed Lady

  5. Sitting On Top of the World

  6. Nirek says:

    How about some old country music Walk the Line with Johnny Cash.

  8. Nirek says:

    Rushing the season a little with Doris and Bing.

    • Nirek, this one is my favorite Doris Day song;

      Doris Day -- Que Sera, Sera (Whatever Will Be Will Be)

      A song that definitely suggests that we shouldn’t take life too seriously.

      Great oldies, Nirek!

      BTW, to get YouTube videos to embed automatically at The Planet, just add the letter “v” after the “http” in the link so the link begins as “httpv” (without the quotes of course). When it posts, it will automatically display the video.

      And keep those picks coming, really enjoy them!

  9. Nirek says:

    Showing my age with Secret love, Doris Day.

  10. It’s a big old goofy world

  11. Harry Nilsson sings Making Whoopee

  12. David Gilmour -- ‘smile’
