You guys had fun last night, and in fact, a very good discussion until, well, heck, even I feel as though I’ve contacted a virtual buzz from the last bits!
I agree with whoever said something about the Republicans aka The Tea Partiers framing the conversations about HCR and subverting the anger from the banks and Wall Street to anger against HCR.
We also allow the Republicans aka The Tea Partiers to frame our discussions on the issues, imho.
Monday should have been a day of celebration because HCR was approved despite the odds, yet I sensed an immediate downer from a great buzz by the threats coming from the right and their threats to repeal and blah-blah-blah.
The MSM is still allowing the Republicans aka The Tea Partiers to control the message of retribution, instead of reporting on the success of President Obama and the Democrats for passing historical HCR.
Monday morning, the MSM briefly covered the good points of HCR, but immediately focused on the anger and the hate from the right.
I agree with whoever said that the Democrats and the left need to get out there and celebrate a victory for Americans and even with the nasty threats coming from the right, we’ve got to somehow downplay it maybe or at the very least stay focused on the positive message of HCR and not be sidetracked, which is what the Republicans are so adept at doing.
Someone else said the excitement and positive energy from HCR is contagious and that is so true!
OK – I did not understand ONE WORD of the first posts here. Sorry I missed Vox – was at a dinner for Death Penalty Focus and Friends Committee on Legislation. Actually ate GOOD chicken, but clearly lost the thread of the entire Vox Populi Experience. Or this is a new planet, and I’m not speaking the language.
Don’t worry I was chatting on the last part of VP and have no clue what everyone was talking about. In the end we were just having a little unicode fun.
Because the chat is in the sidebar, Google can be recognized by it.
Bots from Google, Yahoo, etc. crawl sites to add pages into their search engines. They’re always popping in, we want that so people can find our articles on searches, we just can see they’re here in that window now.
I wasn’t kidding though teabaggers really are going to try and do a “Woodstock” type event right in Harry Reid’s town. These bastards are so bad it makes me feel like I should defend conservadems like Reid and Stupak.
The thought of eternal suffering is a significant motivator for those who are strong in their religious beliefs. It is also conducive to those who push various religious doctrines on their congregants to keep them in line.
“Democratic republics are more likely to perish through misuse of power than through lack of it.” — Tocqueville Democracy in America . It’s as if Tocqueville looked into the future.
Just wanted to add that I tried absinthe while in France, and I thought it looked like and tasted like cough syrup or NyQuil.
I do believe it was the favorite drink of Toulouse-Lautrec.

LMAO!

Hope that made sense.

You technically savvy folks are awesome!

I turned it into psychosis a go-go. Sorry. Adlib was serving stiff drinks.
A ??? ????? by any other name.
Q?
I was trying to see if Khirad’s code worked in main replies. I noticed the chat box takes accepts more characters than reply boxes.
Yayus?

Does that make sense?
Yep I thought it had something to do with putting it on the front page, since it’s currently tracked by Google.
BTW, love the “A”.
It’s just extended ascii code.

I have a much deserved break.
From what?
Thank you everyone for a thoughtful and hilarious edition tonight!
I would have been there earlier but two friends kept me up laughing the other night. 😉
What inconsiderate people! I’d send a teabagger to their homes if I was you.

They’ll have all the mud to sling but none of the peace, love and music. How is that Woodstock?
More like Foolstock.
😆 The “Wood” will definitely be petrified maybe “Coalstock” is more appropriate considering.
Laughing stock?
Oy. It’s the morning after…
😆 😆 😆
