Ad. Words elude me. I just want you to know that I love mayo on my pastrami.

Just a funny little story of two very different Jewish perspectives. My sister got married at 20. Her husband wanted a kosher kitchen (which despite having been divorced for decades still keeps, her male live-in companion isn’t Jewish), so she complied.

We weren’t brought up that way. My father didn’t allow pork products in the house. My mom and I would go on “picnics”, stopping at an Italian Deli for all things pork.

Anyway, so she made her first dinner for both families. As poor students and my sister barely able to boil water(still that way, BF does all the cooking; hence my confusion on why they still keep a kosher kitchen), she made spaghetti and meatballs.

I was 12 and even though I knew what kosher was, I asked for a glass of milk. I think that was the last time my sister liked me. After that, its a lot of yelling and fake outrage.

I suspect she’ll vote for Hillary over Bernie. I haven’t asked yet, because we actually stopped talking after I was disappeared from the middle class. We tried for a while, but there are none so blind as those who can’t see. Unfortunately that hit just after my dad passed away and my mom has essentially become withdrawn and bitter. I can’t break through to either of them, so I gave up wasting my breath.

Things have much improved for me since then. And even though I am at the bottom of the middle class, I am comfortable here. I wish I knew whether they knew that things were going well. At least one of my cousins’ BF and I keep up on Facebook, that’s going to have to suffice for now.

Anyway, great diary. It made me laugh!! Love the picture!!
