First Sedition, Anyone?

My daughter danced for thirteen years — just like this.

nellie,

The other broadcasters are so rapped up in themselves, I doubt they even notice.

I loved David Bloom. Just think, had we not gone to war in Iraq, he might still be alive.

I’ve not watched Diane since she has taken over.

And, I neglected The PBSNewshour and NPR. Both organizations ask tough, challenging questions. What impresses me the most is I can’t determine who, what, or how the journalists believe. Which, by the way, is the way it is supposed to be; unbiased reporting.

And this is undoubtedly one of the many reasons Rachel has been successful:

A graduate of Castro Valley High School in Castro Valley, Maddow earned a degree in public policy from Stanford University in 1994.[13] At graduation she was awarded the John Gardner Fellowship. She was also the recipient of a Rhodes Scholarship and began her postgraduate study in 1995 at Lincoln College, Oxford. In 2001, she completed her Doctor of Philosophy degree (DPhil) in politics from Oxford University.[14]

She knows what she is talking about. Jeeze, what a concept!

Chet Huntley

David Brinkley

Walter Cronkite

Peter Jennings

David Bloom

Each would be incredibly disheartened by what has happened to his profession.

marion,

You sum it up very well, and I agree (except for maybe the “feta cheese” thingy).

Anyone referring to the President as “Barry” is being downright disrespectful; and I used to like Bill Maher. Of course he isn’t the only one, some of the biggest offenders were, and probably still are, found in the “comments” over at HP. Moreover, the behavior reminds me of playground trash talk between Kindergarteners.

I’ve come to the conclusion “these people” talk, whine, and opine for their own benefit (they enjoy hearing themselves babble 24/7). It’s quite the ego trip to hear/see oneself played, rewound and played again. Of course, none of them were elected to the Presidency, none of them has any of the responsibilities of the Office, yet all of them think their unsolicited opinions should be taken seriously. Of course, if any of them had anything credible to offer, maybe someone, somewhere would listen.

Maybe they should have a pity party; then they’d be able to entertain each other.

Great montage of “these people.” Strange how each of them looks so angry; of course that’s what carping all day will do. Eventually it takes its toll.

I support my President!

I’m hovering there myself. My father would be ashamed. πŸ˜‰

at least they make a great drill team… πŸ˜†

What would you like to hear in the State of the Union?

Ah, but it’s all in the duct-tape πŸ˜†

I would rather see these guys/gals in Haiti than Afghanistan or Iraq. At least the presence is to save lives not combat them.

e’cat,

so bipartisanship (on his part anyway) is idealistic. he tried, they blew him off, and now is the time to say, “you folks must be confused, i’m the POTUS and you’re not. get with the program or get out — sweeties — we have three, count ’em three more years to go.

» Posted By boomer1949 On January 26, 2010 @ 9:29 pm

tb92…

Okay you yahoos, I offered, you chose to blow me off. Well guess what? I’m movin’ on without you. Now, explain that to your constituents.

» Posted By boomer1949 On January 26, 2010 @ 9:22 pm

Only if they don’t have their mouths duct taped in advance!

» Posted By boomer1949 On January 26, 2010 @ 1:27 pm

Heck no, and I was going to add…

I would like to see him sit down cross-legged on the floor and give a reading of Dr. Suits! That would totally make my day and it would make you a national hero. πŸ˜‰

Oh, and they (the Republicans) wouldn’t recognize diplomatic if it bit each and every one of them in the ass; probably couldn’t spell it either. And, they’d think he was complimenting them. πŸ˜†

» Posted By boomer1949 On January 26, 2010 @ 1:23 pm

I would like to see President Obama call out the Republicans this way (and not be nice about it by the way) by…

Telling the Republicans they’re behaving like little kids on the playground because they lost.

Telling the Republicans they’re obstructing any kind of progress — on purpose and out of spite.

Telling the Republicans they’re racists and bigots.

Asking the Republicans why they left their lily white sheets at home?

LAB,

Please don’t! Your comments are not causing problems, at least not with me anyway; I doubt with many others either.

I value your opinion, look forward to your posts, and would just plain miss you if you dropped off The Planet.

I hope you hear personally from AdLib. And, I hope you will read what the majority of us have said or will say.

Please don’t go?!?

It’s been bugging me for months. I knew she reminded me of someone, and I saw the light today.

I sent this to AH on Jan. 20 and posted it in Time Out for O/T the same day:

Dear Ms. Huffington and Editorial Staff:

I am not sure what has happened at HuffingtonPost over the last twelve months, but whatever it is, I dislike it. I disliked it so much I canceled my account a month ago.

However, I had been thinking about doing so since shortly after President Obama took the Oath of Office. I thought the negativity, the nasty comments permitted on the threads, over zealous moderating, censure and banning were just figments of my imagination. I kept giving you one more day, one more week, one more month. When it only got worse, and you did nothing to assuage my concern, I gave up on you. I realized HuffingtonPost had become nothing more than a tabloid.

What you call journalism, Ms. Huffington, is nothing but a three ring circus, with so many things happening at once, your audience does not realize you are peddling snake oil. You suck people in with your flashy headlines, inaccurate reporting (if one can call it reporting), supporting President Obama one day, then stabbing him in the back the next. You and your toadies have flip flopped on so many issues, you have incited confusion, distrust, hatefulness, and utter chaos in the minds of many. How do you sleep at night?

Ms. Huffington, do you and your staff know the meaning of the word sedition? Maybe you should brush up on your vocabulary.

HuffingtonPost today is not the HuffingtonPost I enjoyed for two years. Your staff is out-of-control, and I think you should hang around the office more instead of flitting from talk show to talk show like Caribou Barbie. We all know where those performances got her — she landed a job at FOX!

Nonetheless, Ms. Huffington, I would like to thank you for stirring the pot, by taking advantage, by sticking your noses into areas of our government for which you have no training, and last but not least, commenting on topics for which you have no clue just to hear the sound of your own voice.

Ms. Huffington, you have succeeded in throwing many of your fans under the bus. However, we are resolved not to let you throw it in reverse to run over us again.

Sincerely,
boomer1949

Oh, now I get it! Duh, boomer!

Eventually I resort to a spray bottle of cold water. The little ones are so familiar with being sprayed, now all I need to do is pick it up and shake it — works everytime — and they go hide under the bed.
