I have talked to Republican friends that are women and I have gotten the same responses. There are women out there that would be okay if we didn’t have the vote again! I can’t believe it. » Posted By SallyT On September 2, 2012 @ 7:29 am Sweet Dreams to you, too, AB! Have a great holiday weekend! » Posted By SallyT On September 1, 2012 @ 9:07 pm Here’s another, AdLib Romney’s bounce from convention looks short-lived: Reuters/Ipsos poll Democratic President Barack Obama regained a narrow lead on Saturday by 44 percent to 43 percent over his Republican challenger, former Massachusetts Governor Romney, in the latest daily installment of the four-day rolling poll. http://news.yahoo.com/poll-romneys-bounce-convention-looks-short-lived-201257488.html » Posted By SallyT On September 1, 2012 @ 8:18 pm CL, I use to like Mel Gibson but I can’t watch anything he is on or in anymore. I have to put Clint Eastwood with Mel now. That will be hard since Clint is one of my husband’s favorites. He’ll have to watch Clint in the other room by himself. 😉 » Posted By SallyT On September 1, 2012 @ 3:23 pm If you haven’t already seen this Democracy Now video, please take the time to watch it. Why anyone would want this man to be our President is beyond me. Well, I guess if you are already rich, maybe. Romney will leverage us, bankrupt the country, and than leave with his billions for the Cayman Islands or wherever his billions are. Matt Taibbi: The Secret to Mitt Romney’s Fortune? I didn’t throw anything at my TV set but I did go through a bottle of Windex after splitting at it so much. And, my poor dog is still hunker down on the floor and hasn’t gotten up because of me shouting SHUT UP so much. He keeps looking at me with a face that says, “I wasn’t barking, Mom….” » Posted By SallyT On August 31, 2012 @ 3:35 pm They’ll debunk them, AdLib. The truth does that. Especially focusing on that Medicare Lie they are spreading. Someone will give a presentation of the facts on that I hope. But, I have no doubt that the Dems have it covered. » Posted By SallyT On August 31, 2012 @ 2:19 pm Whomever asked Clint Eastwood to speak, please give them a cookie! AdLib, I hope that the DNC convention will be positive and up lifting after all this week’s downers and negative speeches. We have much to be proud of and we are a party that is still at work to make things even better. No going backwards. Forward and we will help you build it! We won’t take away from you but work to help you keep all you have and more, give a hand up, and never turn our backs on you if you are down, in trouble, person of color or female, hungry, ill, or getting old. Our guy is still in the chair and we will keep him there! » Posted By SallyT On August 31, 2012 @ 2:04 pm EXCLUSIVE: Sneak Peak at Mitt Romney’s Speech Tonight at the RNC Very true, CL. And, as Bishop of his ward, most of that is his duties in that position. Okay, I know Mitt Romney isn’t anything like this but those priests were thought as wonderful by those that attended the church except for those poor boys they used their power and authority to harm. Even Hitler was good to his dog. He shot it before he killed himself. Romney put his on top of his car for 200 miles. » Posted By SallyT On August 31, 2012 @ 9:32 pm CL, I’m sure it was more like he usually got up before her and put the rose there for her to find when she awoke. (I don’t know how he died. Heartattack or what?) My husband gets up several hours before me (like 2:30am because of his job and even on weekends.) During the week, we have separate bedrooms because I don’t like going to bed at 6pm. In fact, many times we cross paths in the morning with him going to work and me finally going to bed. He always teases that it is like in the service and finding a warm bunk. We do get together on the weekends, him, me and two great danes hit the sack in one bed. My question is, was the story true since Romney lies so much. I’m sure it was because his dad appears to have been of a nicer guy for real. Not just while running for office. Update: He did die of a heartattack. On July 26, 1995, Romney died of a heart attack at the age of 88 while he was doing his morning exercising on a treadmill at his home in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan; he was discovered by his wife Lenore but it was too late to save him.[89] He was buried at the Fairview Cemetery in Brighton, Michigan. In addition to his wife and children, Romney was survived by 23 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. » Posted By SallyT On August 31, 2012 @ 9:18 pm KQ, Romney’s speech made me want to vote for George Romney, his dad. His dad sounded so sweet with the rose for his wife on the bedside table every morning. (Now that would be very expensive for Mitt’s grandfather with all those wives! But then again, they are cheaper by the dozen. Roses that is not wives. Gingrich can attest to that.) » Posted By SallyT On August 31, 2012 @ 4:12 pm Don’t take this as any support for dick head Ryan but no one knew who the hell Sarah Palin was before she was name as McCain’s VP pick. And, there was a shorted period of time between that announcement and the Convention. I am pretty sure that gave Palin babe a boost. Ick on both. » Posted By SallyT On August 30, 2012 @ 6:14 pm I’ll second that hope! » Posted By SallyT On August 30, 2012 @ 3:48 pm Republican Support for Natural Disasters Well, Funkie, these guys have choosen, wisely or not! Ron Paul Supporters Are Verbally Disrupting The Republican National Convention » Posted By SallyT On August 28, 2012 @ 2:38 pm KQ, I welcome you keeping us concerned. We need not to take anything for granted in this election. Must be on our toes because there are so many out there stepping on them every chance they get. And, I am usually barefooted! Part Blackfoot, you know, and I’m not referring to the dirt on my feet alone. 😉 » Posted By SallyT On August 28, 2012 @ 2:07 pm The Repugs are already turning this if the hurricane should hit New Orleans. They are saying that this time it won’t be like last time. Last time there was a Democrat Mayor in New Orleans and a Democrat Governor in Louisiana. Now there are Republicans in those offices and no disaster will be miss handled like last time. Nothing about Bush and certainly nothing about President Obama acting fast for those in need. These guys are something else! » Posted By SallyT On August 28, 2012 @ 12:02 am “2016- Obama’s America” : The Right Wraps Crazy in a Rational Package Here is the Bill Maher clip with D’Souza Bill Maher Takes Apart Dinesh D’Souza Over His Fearmongering Film http://videocafe.crooksandliars.com/heather/bill-maher-takes-apart-dinesh-d-souza-over » Posted By SallyT On September 1, 2012 @ 3:19 pm I still think he was just given Eastwood credit for trying to do something that would be a difficult comedy routine. He never said he agreed with anything Eastwood said, in fact he said the opposite. I think most comedians are ego driven. Anyway, here is Jon Stewart’s take. He also agrees with Bill Maher that Republicans want to live in the past and falsely accuse Obama. Jon Stewart Praises Eastwood’s ‘Fist Full of Awesome’ Before Ripping into Romney’s RNC Speech http://videocafe.crooksandliars.com/heather/jon-stewart-praises-eastwoods-fist-full-aw » Posted By SallyT On September 1, 2012 @ 3:15 pm I thought that Bill was just trying to say as a comedian that it is hard to get up there and do a comedy skit with just a chair. He did say he didn’t agree with anything that Eastwood said but gave him credit for standing up there and trying. That he was a hit with that crowd and of course he would be. And, they were the only ones laughing. I took it as more of feeling like the guy needed someone to say something nice and since Bill is a fan of Eastwood, he did. Bill also last night took on that crosseyed black guy that is sometimes on MSNBC and basically told him it was like trying to get the facts and truth through a rock head, which that guy is. Loved the New Rules, too. You can add me to the “independently minded”, I guess. That makes me cool? No probably just another doofus. Well, at least I am staying in character. 🙂 » Posted By SallyT On September 1, 2012 @ 2:28 pm CL, here is another interesting question regarding that hit to the Pentagon: Rumsfeld Buries Admission of Missing 2+ Trillion Dollars in 9/10/01 Press Conference http://911research.wtc7.net/sept11/trillions.html And, interestingly the hit by the plane or missiles was in the area that the records were kept. ???? » Posted By SallyT On August 28, 2012 @ 1:50 pm No Matter what Democrats Think the Presidential Race is a Toss Up Because of the Big Lies KQ, I agree that we should never sit back and think this is going to be easy. No, we have a fight ahead of us but I think we can get prepared for battle and win. I have a small victory. An old classmate of mine from the Dark Ages, who is an Independent, sometimes a bit of a conspiracy theorist, told me last week that he will be voting for President Obama and in fact might go with a straight Democrat ballot. He lives in Florida! Now, I had a challenge getting him to see the faults with Ron Paul. But, he likes the ACA and does not want us to lose that. And, he doesn’t like Paul Ryan because of his concerns with Medicare that we are going to be in need of soon and his budget is going to hurt the middle class. As far as Romney, well, he thinks he is just out for the rich and hiding something in those taxes. So, one down and many more to go! There are more smart people in FL (although my friend is originally from Missouri but he agrees with me that our folks back home have gone nuts!) 🙂 » Posted By SallyT On August 24, 2012 @ 6:24 pm Is the Smart Money on Romney Actually Being Dumb? KQ, the President did have a good male roll model in his grandfather. Grandfathers sometimes have a better influence because they have lived the father roll but with grandchildren they can make up for any mistakes and re-enforce all the things that worked out well in bringing up their own child. And, Grandpa is old but always wise. At least that is how I remember mine. » Posted By SallyT On August 11, 2012 @ 4:57 am AdLib, I think there is a similarity between Bush W. and Romney. Both want to best their fathers. Bush W. wanted to be President longer then his dad and also to take Baghdad. Romney wants to be President because his dad didn’t make it that far. Both made it to Governor. Romney Jr has made more money than Dad, although Dad was wealthy but not like his son. So, to best Dad further, he has to be President. (See, Dad never made it to President but he is thought of as a good person. Sonny, not so much. Got to be President to be listed in history above Dad. However, I think he will have about the same place in history as Bush W.) » Posted By SallyT On August 9, 2012 @ 8:47 pm Weekend Music Thread – Romney Roasting And, here’s the lyrics in case you would like to sing along: Elder Price: I’ve always longed to help the needy A warlord who shoots people in the face. I believe that the Lord, God, created the universe. You cannot just believe part way, I can’t allow myself to have any doubt. I believe that God has a plan for all of us. I know that I must go and do If You ask the Lord in faith, I believe that Satan has a hold of you And now I can feel the excitement. The Scriptures say that if you ask in faith, I believe that God lives on a planet called Kolob. » Posted By SallyT On August 4, 2012 @ 10:15 pm I Believe – Andrew Rannells from the Book of Mormon Musical – HD

Ever since I was a child I tried to be the best
So, what happened?
My family and friends all said I was blessed
So, what happened?
It was supposed to be all so exciting to be teaching of Christ ‘cross the sea,
But, I allowed my faith to be shaken.
Oh, what’s the matter with me?
To do the things I never dared.
This was the time for me to step up
So, then, why was I so scared?
What’s so scary about that?
I must trust that my Lord is mightier
And always has my back.
Now I must be completely devout
I can’t have even one shred of doubt…
I believe that He sent His only Son to die for my sins.
And I believe that ancient Jews built boats and sailed to America
I am a Mormon,
And a Mormon just believes.
You have to believe in it all.
My problem was doubting the Lord’s will
Instead of standing tall.
It’s time to set my worries free.
Time to show the world what Elder Price is about!
And share the power inside of me…
I believe that plan involves me getting my own planet.
And I believe; that the current President of The Church, Thomas Monson, speaks directly to God.
I am A Mormon,
And, dang it! a Mormon just believes!
The things my God commands.
I realize now why He sent me here.
He will always answer you.
Just believe in Him
And have no fear!
I believe that the Lord, God, has sent me here
And I believe that in 1978, God changed his mind about black people!
You can be a Mormon..
A Mormon who just believes!
This is the moment I was born to do.
And I feel so incredible
To be sharing my faith with you.
If you ask God Himself he’ll know.
But you must ask Him without any doubt
And let your spirit grow…
I believe that Jesus has his own planet as well.
And I believe that the Garden of Eden was in Jackson County, Missouri.
If you believe, the Lord will reveal it.
And you’ll know it’s all true. You’ll just feel it.
You’ll be a Mormon
And, by gosh!
A Mormon just believes!
Oh, I believe.
I believe.
