Good afternoon Kalima ….. I was in this morning but then the Planet dies on me ……. I suspect Fearless Leader was tinkering again 😆

I haven’t got a clue as to the trivia question this morning – ah well, at least I can lay claim to Kipling (I also knew Hamnet and Judith but the Planet was being particularly sluggish that day).

I refuse to look at pictures of a naked aging wannabe Italian stud-in-his-own-mind – even thinking about it is making me gag!!

Now I’m off to read Charlie Brooker – I just love his sense of the absurd

The UK has always been a Nanny state – do you remember Mary Whitehouse? Now there was a village busybody who gained the national stage so she could scold us all!! But the UK has moved on to become something quite sinister now – verging on a police state imo – or maybe they always were and I never noticed it while I lived there.

I’m doing fine, thanks for asking. I lost my beloved Kitty to kidney failure last November and I still miss her. If I can figure out how to post a pic I’ll post my favorite one of her. I’m now dealing with the original Mightywoof (my avi) who apparently has kidney problems and Pancreatitis (not that he knows about it – he thinks he’s still a puppy) – you should see the number and size of the pills he has to take – thank goodness for Pill Pockets! But he’s coming up for around 14 and I know he won’t live forever

I hope you and your tribe are keeping well even if it’s raining.

Yup – consider me in on the shiatsu massage for our resident saint 😆

Good morning Kalima – I must apologise for not being around all that much …. as I said on O/T, the page loading had become so painfully slow and I was getting frustrated. Thanks to Our Fearless Leader this thing’s so fast now I’m in danger of getting whiplash 😆

That is a truly thought-provoking article about the Court of Protection in the UK ….. not only for the human rights of those who stand before the court but the whole process of secret decisions behind closed doors I find troubling. The law should never be done in secret – ever!!

I followed a couple of the links on that page and found that it only takes the opinion of one – one – social worker or council worker or so-called ‘expert’ to have a person fall under their jurisdiction and the full weight of the law, right or wrong, to fall down on the ‘accused’. I was going to say that is more troubling to me than the fate of one individual but of course, the fate of one individual can so easily translate into the fate of us all!! This is very, very worrying.

I guess, to be fair, it should be said that anybody would have a hard time matching up to the President’s gift of vision and the words to articulate that vision so movingly.

This is the first time I’ve seen SP’s video – I’ve read about it and the comments across the web. How right those comments were – it was all about her. It was political not conciliatory, it was defiant not all-embracing.

If, by some quirk, she should become your President (an act that could only be directed by angry gods and an insane populace – “those whom the gods would destroy ……”) then both America and the planet are doomed.

Good job Adlib – this should (if those same gods are fair) go viral!!

When my Mum was alive we’d speak on the phone every week; before she died I got really tied up in something that now seems very unimportant but I kept telling myself ‘oh, I must remember to call Mum today’ – but I didn’t and then she died suddenly and to this day it haunts me that I didn’t call because I was too busy. So, yeah, tell your loved ones how much you love them every single moment of every day for as long as you live before it’s too late to do so.
