Time Out for OT – Vol 10

I want a pony. What do I have to do Boomer?

» Posted By HITO On September 6, 2010 @ 2:37 pm

Silly Bit…It’s Monday, Labor Day. So we’re laboring.

Time Out for O/T – Vol 4

Hi Cher!

I love her aura. She always looks like she’s got the secret of life and is dying to tell us but can’t, so she hides it by smiling non-stop.

Or maybe she just sees the CPAC crowd as a bunch of douchebags and thinks it’s hysterical that they are so ignorant.

I could go either way.

» Posted By HITO On February 19, 2010 @ 8:15 pm

I’ve bean fine…you’ll see me more as long as nothing is shadowing me from the land of hell.

Good to see you too Javaz. Be careful with those flashbacks, they can be painful.

» Posted By HITO On February 19, 2010 @ 8:12 pm

Hey Boomer. Thanks for posting that. I had to step out to view, coal fired desktop like Veeps kept having spins during the viewing.

I heart Rachel. Her visit to the CPAC and her attitude after the fact just proves the point that she is sane, intelligent and not reactive the way, perhaps I might have been. She sets a good example.

Liz Cheney’s group is “Keep America Safe”? WTF? From what? Her father? And the bumper stickers from her group read “Gitmo Saves Lives”? Good, send Dick and GW down there and save their lives before they are tried.

Worst part was the “We Came Unarmed This Time” posters. How scary is that? Loved RM’s “These folks are real”…sigh.

Time Out for OT – Vol 3

Hi sweetie.

Sorry to hear about your meltdown.

You must have a coal-fired computer like me.

I always keep a fire extinguisher next to my desk.

I’ll e ya after I have a look around. Been awhile.

Chris Matthews & Arianna Huffington: A Moment of Zen for Jon Stewart

Great video offerings I had missed.

Maddow’s lesson on media support of the extremist candidates in her step by step fashion left no room for doubt.

And I would have never noticed that level of animosity between AH and CM. AH is good at maintaining composure no matter who attacks, interestingly enough.

The Stewart “candy” that Matthews named with such disdain can be more thought provoking and intellectual at times than the spin Matthews & Co. offers on a good day.

I’m going to be watching/reading things in a different light now Marion. Thanks for a glimpse into “news” media reality.

» Posted By HITO On November 1, 2010 @ 2:14 pm

That was an excellent report, Marion.

Eye opening and like a mighty wind blowing directly in one’s face, it felt quite refreshing.

I was not aware of AH’s posturing in early 2008. I was only approaching the exit of my cave at that point.

I look foward to watching the links you provided later (I’m at work).

Your analysis connected many pieces of the MSM/Huffington puzzle and I thank you for educating me.

More please.

How I became an accidental American

Americans are Stupid!

» Posted By HITO On October 26, 2010 @ 3:43 pm

New Zealand and Canada’s loss is our gain. Glad you chose America…and you are perhaps a “better” American for the consideration involved in making that choice. A cognizant decision about selecting citizenship is much more work than inheriting it and perhaps more desirable.

Both of my children had the same 7th grade US History teacher. He is one of the best teachers in our school district and I was fortunate enough to have become inspired about my country through the work he sent home with my children twice. It has made me passionate about how wonderful and endearing the experiment known as America as been.

Thanks for sharing your life with us, Haruko.

The New PlanetPOV!!!

Hi Boomer!

I was thinking about you this morning when I posted that.

I remember how tech savvy you became upon entering here. I was in awe and admired your determination. I can’t even remember how to post a youtube on here anymore. God help me.

Looking forward to seeing you on a Friday vox, if I ever stay up that late again. So much crap going on over at HP that is easier to avoid by going to bed early.

Hope you are well.

🙂

It’s good to have company, Pepe.

I have these new instructions on my list of “things to embrace” when I feel ballsy. Who knows when that sentiment will arise in me (these days).

🙂

» Posted By HITO On October 25, 2010 @ 11:15 am

Thanks, Kalima.

I have bookmarked it as well, knowing I would probably be stumbling around the Archives section using up too much server space with my search.

Similar to not being able to find your glasses because you’re not wearing them.

🙂

» Posted By HITO On October 25, 2010 @ 7:10 am

Oy. Old HITO will need to learn some new talents with these cool toys, Adlib. I hope you are more optimistic than I am. Sigh.

It looks wonderful. Very crisp, 21st century, and the font change is terrific. Can you keep the directions up for a bit? Thanks.

Congratulations on your one year anniversary! (You’re on my donation list at around Xmas.)

Waiting for Bizarro Superman

In the old days (pre 2000) most people voted party without being truly educated about issues. They were too busy to read the NYT.

Now, people vote their party and ignore the issues. They’re too busy avoiding the reality that their former apathy may have contributed to the H-bomb of economic disaster in the history of the nation.

I am told by a certain brilliant daughter, that the party concept is outdated and a contributing factor to dysfunction of government, “We need to elect intellegent people regardless of their party”.

Can I have a Prozacaccino now? Make mine a double.

Adventures in Being an Investigative Journalist, Part 1

He THE man.

» Posted By HITO On October 12, 2010 @ 6:54 pm

Cool. Will you describe in great detail how you plunged the syringe into a hot babe’s heart to revive her from heroin overdose?

Ok, you don’t have to. That movie had some intense moments that required I walk out of the room.

I can’t wait!

» Posted By HITO On October 12, 2010 @ 6:53 pm

Rarely my gut lies to me. I trust it, at least initially. I file the info and watch and wait.

I have found subsequently 9 out of 10 times that my “hunch” was correct after all the evidence has been amassed.

What’s important to remember is that those hunches have that 10% fail factor, so one should never react until you’ve been assured your assumption has the other 90% and is conclusive.

Good for you Pepe. I wish my local small town paper strived for the accuracy and accountability you exhibited. Their “slam and dam” bullshit drove and drives me nuts. I only buy it now to support the horoscope writer.

When’s Part II coming to our theatre?

TAKE ACTION: Help Write a Speech For Pres. Obama

My post was completely comprised of what Johnny Adlibseed

» Posted By HITO On August 26, 2010 @ 9:47 am

Bush, Cheney and Rove had almost three months free reigned to add to the nightmares Obama would face. Maybe even longer, as I’d imagine they knew by August that O would win. I can almost visualize the smirks on their nasty faces as files were destroyed, evidence covered up.

The only thing they never counted on was that the GOP/teabaggers would exhibit such obvious racism and stupidity over time. Bet they have plenty to do now putting their fingers in the holes.

» Posted By HITO On August 26, 2010 @ 7:43 am

I want Obama to be as inspirational as he was when he delivered the “We are not the blue states or the red states, we are the United States” speech. That was my first glimpse of him that had me saying “Who is this guy?” and was epic enough that I stepped out of my cave and googled the hell out of him. I’ve been caveless since.

After 8 horrible years of bowing my head aghast at what Bush and Cheney had strategized, that moment of hope (yes, it was hope)that we could undo the bullshit and set a new course, was overwhelming.

The words I’d like to hear from Obama would be too detail oriented, too specific about how he has been duped by the Rovian machine that continues, step by step, to discredit him by marketing lies and innuendo in an attempt to allow the teabaggers to think they’re clever. I’d want to hear too much based on knowing too much.

But for the general populace’s consumption…Obama needs to remind the nation of his background, his credentials, the problems he faced upon entering the oval office, and where he’s gone since then. No small task. He will have to mention some of peripheral bullshit that became headline news and then insert his own disclaimers. He needs to remind everyone the birth date of the problems we continue to face, the associated players and process he envisions – step by step – to remediate them. And he’s got to do all that while maintaining a leader stance, without even a whisper of victim.

HP had a Rachel thread last night, whereby Maddow did not want to speak about the mosque situation due to its manufactured status and spin. I admired her for that, but it has to be addressed. A NYC cab driver was attacked because he was muslim. The potential for chaos due to bigotry is escalating in this country. So many ignorants, so little time to educate them.

BTW, I posted the link on hp twice. Pended both times, but it came up shortly thereafter. First time it stood and has stayed. Second time it posted (on the Rachel thread) it stayed for 3 minutes and they took it down. Bet they’re watching me now.

See you guys tomorrow night for the Vox.

Yes, you are….love it!

You better add a TM.

» Posted By HITO On August 26, 2010 @ 6:54 am

Here’s what I’m going to post over there:

Rabid, omnipresent and publicly sanctioned hate mongering is deteriorating social discourse and behavior as well as our democracy. Obama’s responses merely validate and empower the GOP hate machine which is continuing to whip up more and more irrational fear and hatred against non-whites, non-Christians and any other group that can be portrayed as the evil

» Posted By HITO On August 25, 2010 @ 5:25 am

Excellent, Adlib.

Can you give me a link that is postable over in hell? I’ll probably C&P a sentence or two of this as well. If you’d rather email it to me, I’ll be on the look out.

Thanks very much.

Friday Music Thread – Why So Serious?

Andrews Sisters!

Made me think of the Divine Miss M’s version:

This is the album cut, but there are “hot soldiers” pix, otherwise it was live versions. I’m partial to the album, which I don’t have anymore. 🙁

» Posted By HITO On August 13, 2010 @ 6:31 pm

That was GREAT!

Loved it. Rosie the Riveter…and a little Lana Turner from “The Postman Only Rings Twice”.

Going to play that again. Thanks Boomer.

🙂

I’m spackling and painting a bit tonight, and have listened to Ricki all the while. Excellent voice, and thoughtful lyrics.

Ricki Lee Jones
Satellites

We were born forever
We are twinned in a fugitive mind
Friends should stay together and
Light the world with the fugitive kind

So you keep talking in many languages
Telling us the way you feel
Don’t stop confiding in the road you’re on
Don’t quit, you’re walking satellites

Walking satellites
She laughs satellites
A room filled with satellites
Ahh, walking satellites

Raised on Fred Astaire, and I could Lindy at 10.

Maybe I’ve been denied because I don’t have my youtube acount anymore.

How’s you? I hope well and excellent to see you also.
