I have read your Alice Walker piece at least 20 times this morning and I still am trying to wrap my head around her comments regarding Fidel Castro and the Cuban people.

1. I lived in Miami area off and on since 1973. Ms. Walker is not basing any of her opinions on REAL FACTS.

2. When Fidel walks with his people he does it because, yes he does love Cuba. But, the people are his pawns for his sick society of brutal dictatorship and tight fisted control of every aspect of the Cuban people.

3. My best friend is Cuban and let me tell you every single Cuban that lives anywhere else other than Cuba will tell you
Castro is not a nice guy. Cubans are not Free, they cannot go visit another family member whenever they want. The Castros to this day still control your life totally.

4. Most people don’t realize most Cubans directly from the island are atheists because they freely cannot practice religion.

5. Cubans will leave other family members behind and risk getting into a rickety boat and may not make it across the shark infested and the dangerous rip currents of the Florida Straits.

6. My best friends husband tells me he was lucky he grew up in Cuba in a coastal city and was able to have ample daily food because they would make spears and have plenty of fish.

7. Castro has murdered over 10,000 people.

Comparing Fidel Castro to JFK is the worst piece of so-called journalism I have read in a long time.

Futhermore, the Castros have empowered the likes of Hugo Chavez and other ilk in Central and South America.

It is freezing here 23 degrees in Central TX.

I seriously doubt if any unemployed people (those that want to work) are in that crowd. If you have current employment and benefits it is probably fun to shoot off your big mouth and have an opinion about something you know little about.

What these people don’t realize is they are CUTTING THEIR OWN THROAT.

Fact. Life is a numbers game, at some point in your life you will become unemployed and you will be without coverage unless you are rich enough to afford health insurance.

All these folks — where were you when BUSH had his off the books WAR, and where were you when BUSH and Paulson bestowed 1 trillion dollars to the corrupt banks.

Rural America is DRYING UP —- unless you can get a job with a multinational Coroporate FARM — Guess What you are going to starve to death.

It has already been happening —– GHOST TOWNS in WEST TEXAS,
by WACO, everyone and everything GONE, no bank, no barber, no store, no doctor

I think Bernie Sanders is A-OK, along with Dennis K. of Ohio and Dick Durbin – IL (by the way he is from my original hometown). A
Chicago suburb of working class people that was once a great manufacturing town.

Did Krugman nail it? Or was he hammering US?

I totally agree but contacting Congress for the past two years appears to be a waste of time. We the people have access to them but are not heard.

Until, these folks are hit in their wallet, nothing
is going to change.

Power of the people, power over their purse.

Small Business has been left out of the equation for way to long. Check out the Small Business Admin. for the past 9 years most of the money has been funnelled to the large corporations.

Yes please read my piece—- a working class party that will send a clear message to corporate America we are not going to take it anymore. WE the people of the United States
made these corporations what they are — while most of the world is still angry at us, now is a good time to really boycott whole sectors of this predatory sham of an economy we have.

I live in South Florida (Just north of Ft. Lauderdale) we
have a 22% foreclosure rate in my subdivision. More than half of my neighbors have lost their jobs or small businesses.

Our power rates are going up 10% next year

so are property taxes, and property insurance.

Is anyone game to my post above ????

The mega corporations are eating us alive.

Hi Folks,

Looks like this is the place to be. Was sick of moderation and the grand silliness on HuffPo (almost as bad as the MSM).

This is my maiden voyage on planet.pov so please bear with me.

We have certainly not been heard by our Congress or White House.

If it isn’t happening in Wash DC or Wall St. it isn’t happening.

Main Street is dying a slow death. Small business is becoming extinct.

We the citizens need to take control —-

ex. On 9/11/09 let’s encourage enough people to not buy any
gasoline on that day. (The powers that be have tried to make us forget the high oil prices of last summer (on to health
care) WELL I HAVE NOT FORGOTTEN THE HIGH OIL PRICES…..

Then pick another day do not go to the doctor that day.

Pick another day — do not buy anything from anybody but a
Mom & Pop Shop

And then start turning up the heat and send a clear message
to corporate America, we are FEED UP

It will be like Pay It Forward — But in reverse — they stuck us, now we will stick them…………..
