Morning Blog – 1-7-10

Been following it over at HP, dum-de-dum-dum, is the tune that comes to my mind. Amazing how they can skew the headlines, tabloid press at it’s best.

Ned Lamont would have been the strongest right now, but it looks like he’s going to run for governor, Rell is retiring….

We have till 2012 to figure this out, there are some good up and coming Dems in the state house to look at, plus some good local mayors in the larger cities.

We’ll have to wait and see, just as long as it doesn’t go to a Repugly, I’ll be happy.

The rumor is that his cancer has come back, but I haven’t seen anything to confirm this.

I think he looks ill because he’s having a hard time with this decision, hard to give up the power that you have on the hill and knowing that the voter’s in CT have had enough of you.

Morning everyone, today is indeed a wonderful day here in CT, Sen. Christopher Dodd has decided to not to seek re-election, his poll numbers here in CT were horrendous and would have lost hands down.

CT Attny. General Richard Blumenthal, who was going to run 2012 against Sen. Joe Lieberman, has decided to run for Dodd’s seat. This is great news for us here in CT and for our Country, the man is a pit bull for the people. He is clearly the most popular politician here in CT in a long time.

His style is along the lines of Grayson and Al Franken, has won every election since the 90’s purely by the people’s choice not by big campaign money. He has gone up against the Big Tobacco Co.’s and most recently up against Dodd regarding deregulation of the banking and investment system.

As soon as he announces I will be calling his campaign headquarters to work to get him into office, our state and our country needs another good guy in the senate.

A Few Poems From My Newest Book…

TRP…your book of poetry is wonderful, your are truly and ‘old soul’…thank you for sharing yourself with us.

If you don’t mind, I have made a copy of this statement of yours, to remind me every day what I need to do:

“we are all here but for an instant and we must learn to feed our heart and soul with the existential intangibles that exist in our own words, our expressions and what we truly leave of ourselves for those that come after us”

Scott Palmer

Words to live by….thank you again.

Nominations – The Planet’s Top Posts of 2009

Sue-I’m a little obsessed by this story too, just sent money to the Military Religious Freedom Foundation to help them with their work.

The amount of money that we spend on Mega Churches on Military bases really gets my goat…why this is not front page news, along with how much we spend on military contractors, I’ll never know. Chalk it up to the Corp. and Christian Right’s control of our country…

» Posted By BigDogMom On December 28, 2009 @ 3:13 pm

Sue, ever since I read Jeff Sharlet’s book, I have been fascinated with the Christian right, they are so intertwined into our society and government, there seems to be no bottom to this story…It really scares the crap out me.

I’m so sorry to hear that Sue, just got back from running the dogs…have you gotten another dog? I feel so bad for your son, loosing a pet or having one taken from you is devastating.

There have been several cases here in the Northeast of late of people kidnapping a family dogs and holding them for ransom. Fortunately our older dog won’t let anyone into the yard or close to the car when their in it. The younger one, well let’s just say they could walk away with the house and he would be wagging his tail and licking their faces!

I have two Golden’s, both males…Rudder, 11 yrs old and Winston, “Win”, 15 months.

Quite the pair…Rudder is a aloof alpha male, that can’t be bothered by anything or anyone and Win’s a love bug, who thinks he’s a lap dog, that weights 85 lbs.

Gets a bit crowded in the kitchen when I’m cooking, they both lay right in the middle of the floor and one must constantly step over and in between the two of them…

My Av is a picture of Rudder…very seriously disgusted at having his picture taken…we are such a bother to him.

How about…Thumbalina? My most favorite doll, next to my Raggidy Ann…

No, I think it’s natural to want to connect to others, saying ‘Hi, how are you?’ is not a bad thing…tho some do think it is.
