They seem incapable of seeing the larger, long term picture that only they can influence by getting out the vote. Fox news and the daily sound bite have wrecked havoc on our politics. I worry about my kids who are in their late thirties. They’re practically guaranteed no SS and their retirement funds continue to be decimated, they’re lucky to hold on to their jobs so it doesn’t look like they’re going to have that constant upward mobility. I’ll probably be gone when the America starts it’s big decline as a third world country, but I don’t want to leave that to my grandchildren. I didn’t use to believe in the death penalty, but some cases, like KT said, where children have been murdered I no longer have a problem with the state making that decision. In the case of bin Laden, he declared war on the American people and made it clear he intended to continue to murder innocent victims – I think it was justified for our nations security. I was however, taken back by the street celebrations that followed. I found that disturbing. I don’t remember what type of heat it had but I know it had solar panels partially for the light. The home was built into a hillside and not gorgeous from the outside, but was fantastic inside. People have been happy with Mitch Daniels but he’s crossed the line now and it has emboldened the Governors of Wisconsin, Ohio, and Michigan. Today we are the first state that is considering stopping all funds to Planned Parenthood on our own. Mitch is actually not as socially conservative as those he has around him like Mike Pence, but he has privatized anything he can get his hands on in this state, rented our toll road to another country, tried to privatize Medicaid which didn’t work and we’re still paying that back. He took away our unions rights’ about five years ago, so he’s really ahead of the game. He doesn’t have much charisma but he works hard and his ratings are high in Indiana. I have a group of 12 old high school friends that stays in touch by email almost daily, we also get together from time to time. We even take trips every five years, but we never discuss politics. We’ve found it’s a touchy subject, of course they all know I’m a lefty and some of them are not.
